This lens describes three ways to work with Squidoo. As you can see from this graph, our traffic is trending up... and we're finding partners to share that traffic with.

Three ways to work with Squidoo 

Powerful opportunities for forward-thinking partners

Squidoo is one of the fastest-growing sites on the web. (The chart above shows Squidoo's traffic growth compared to Oprah.com's).

Squidoo is a co-op of lenses. Lenses are handbuilt webpages that leverage one user's expertise by pointing to recommended content online. By aggregating these lenses, Squidoo attracts and then redirects traffic all day long.

Right now, we have identified a small number of partners to team with to create useful pages-and to share traffic. Organizations like Conde Nast, CDBaby and Netflix are serious about working with us to increase traffic and generate revenue. The 3 basic ways to work together with Squidoo are:

GOOD: Modest increase in your web traffic at no cost, no effort. 

a. We build a module (see image) featuring various RSS feeds from your site.
b. All the content and all the traffic directs to your site.
c. This means that tens of thousands of lensmasters are able to feature links to your content.
d. If you already have RSS, this is effortless.
e. If you don't have RSS, an editor or project manager on your team can highlight content from your site in less than five minutes a week, with no technology required. See this article on Seth's blog: Painless RSS.

BETTER: Significant increase in web traffic to your site, no cost, modest effort. 

We promote a module (that you build) featuring your site to our growing list of lensmasters and if they like it, they use it. You also promote it to your volunteers or users or readers or fans.

BEST: Dramatic shift in your metrics as you engage your existing users and leverage the fast growth of Web 2.0. 

a. We give you a simple link that allows your users, customers and readers to create their own lenses about the topics you cover and the products you sell.
b. Any lens that is built as a result of this link automatically includes a module featuring your site or your products.
c. Every lens built as a result of this link that generates royalties over $15 will earn your site $5.
d. Surprisingly, the incremental effort here is all done by your users, not you. All you need to do is promote the link.

How to maximize your upside at Squidoo

Most of our partner sites either have content or stuff to sell, or both.

If you've got content, consider RSS. If you've got stuff to sell, an affiliate program can help.

If you've got RSS on your site already, it is trivially easy to get a presence going on Squidoo. Our modules can grab whichever RSS feed you choose and feature it on our lensmasters' lenses. You'll need our MDK (see the module above for details on how to get it) and just a few minutes of effort.
