Hello, Can I Use The Phone Please!

I remember back in the day when party lines were common place, but most couldn't afford a private phone line. We would go all day or even weeks without talking on a phone. Unless you could afford a private phone line.

My mother would always say don't stay on the line to long may be an important phone call coming in. If there had been the operator could break in on the phone line, and then politely ask you to hang up so the caller could call in.

Telephone, What Use That Old Thing!

My daughters or sons wouldn't know how to act if I told them to use this phone instead of a cell phone. They would need instructions on how to use it.

Wouldn't take long, but would cramp their style. After using it they probably would look around to see if anyone had seen them using it.

I imagine my youngest would claim to be sick after using such an old phone, and would need to stay home the next day.
