Next time you have a gathering, try this hearty hot dip.
Add a Little, or a Lot, of spice to your next party or gathering.
You will need:
2- lbs. of ground beef
1- clove garlic chopped finely, or 1/2 tbs garlic powder
1- 16 oz. block of chedder or pepper jack cheese, cut into 1 inch cubes
2- 31 oz. cans of Old El Paso refried Beans
1- 24oz bottle Pace Thick and Chunky Salsa- Whichever spice level you
prefer. I find that this recipe weakens the heat of the salsa, so if you normally like Medium heat, you might want to cook with Hot.
Tobasco sauce [Optional]. If you really want it hot, try Tobasco Habanero sauce.
Salt and pepper to taste
Brown the ground beef, salt, pepper and garlic along with 1/2 cup of picante sauce, drain.
Add rest of picante sauce and simmer for 5 minutes, then add cheese.
Once cheese is melted, stir in refried beans, and add Tobasco sauce to taste.
Keep it hot in a crock pot or fondu pot, and serve in small bowls with sturdy chips; tortilla chips or ridged potato chips are both very good.
Enjoy!

Great recipe. And I love your bio. I'm thinking of having it embroidered and put on the wall, or maybe tattooed on my rear. Posted April 13, 2008 |
