Passive Income Streams

Generating passive income streams is not about earning more money. Although that could be an added benefit, the primary reason that many people work so hard to create passive income streams is because it frees up their time. A passive income business does not require working 8 hours a day. It may not even require 8 hours a week. It all depends on the business model, and making sure there are systems in place (using software, third party programs/services, and outsourcing), so that very little work needs to be done.

Don't be fooled though - you may see many advertisements for programs that claim to generate a passive income for you with very little work needed upfront. The truth is, creating passive income streams takes a lot of work, but if done correctly, you can have a lifetime of income coming from a source that does not require any more work.

The New Rich and Passive Income

The New Rich, as termed by Tim Ferriss and The 4-Hour Work Week, use passive income streams to create time. It's not really all about the money, like you might thing; it's about the time that the automatically generated income gives them. The freedom to be your own boss, the freedom to spend time exactly how you want, and the freedom from financial strain are all important motivating factors for the New Rich.


The New Rich do not have fancy cars, and the New Rich do not have mansions. The New Rich also does not have a 9 to 5 job, and all businesses that they own or work on are setup in a way that doesn't require constant care and working. As many of them like to say, "It's about working hard now, so you can sit back and reap the benefits later."
