Passport Requirements To Cancun

Since Cancun is a part of Mexico, you can use any of these documents to visit this destination: your US passport book, passport card, or your enhanced driver's license issued by the state. However, keep in mind that you will need to have a new passport book especially if you are planning of traveling outside the countries/areas covered by the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI). You can use your passport card to travel to Canada, Bermuda, Mexico, and the Caribbean. Otherwise, you will need a regular passport book to travel.
