Patapon 2

With cute little eyeball-warriors, annoying, wail like songs, and a steady rhythm, Patapon 2 is a great game, available for the PSP.

You play as Kami, the Patapon's war god. You can change your name, but it can't be longer than four letters. You control a little Patapon army, with the PSP shape buttons (Square, Circle, X, and Triangle).

Hardcore Strategy Game

Beneath the singing, dancing, and happy-looking eyeballs lies a hardcore strategy game

The game is another great game, among many other great games. You control your little Patapon army, as they journey to Earthend, to look at IT. While I have yet to find out what Earthend, or what IT is, I am sure they will reveal that in Patapon 3, which will hopefully be coming out soon.

What I do know, it that the enemies in Patapon 2, while looking stupid, within minutes of playing the game, become your hated enemies. You fight mysterious masked beings, called the Karmen, who all seem to have a girlish voice. You also fight many giant monsters, and demons. It's a great game. PATA-PON-DON-CHAKA!

Bottom line, underneath the, frankly, stupid exterior, is a hardcore game that combines rhythm and strategy, to make the ultimate drum-beating experience.

Watch this battle. Make note of the use of the drums (Pata, Pon, Don, Chaka), and watch how the Patapon respond to the commands. It's awesome!

Minigames

One of the best things about the game

The mini games, of Patapon 2, are something else. I spent over five hours in one day, making weapons for my army, using one minigame, and fighting the same boss over and over.

The mini games are very...unique. While being addictive, they are rather childish. The mini games all focus on the circle button, and sometimes the square. If you like mini games, and don't care about how childish they are, then you'll like Patapon 2's mini games.

BlackSmith Minigame

My favorite mini game, I would have to say, is the Black Smith mini game. You control a chubby smith, and help a talking anvil-guy make ores, and weapons. Once again, it looks childish, but is really addictive.
