Diseases and Pathogens

Honey bees like all  organisms have been  challenged by diseaes and pathogens over the years.  This lens is a work in progress involving sites that discuss this important aspect of  managing  honey bees in the modern environment.

One of the newest challenges is a phenomenon called Colony Collapse Disorder or CCD.  Its appearance has caused beekeepers and others to become more attuned to aspects of colony healthy, particulary nutrition and exposure to pesticides.
