Patio Wrought Iron Furniture - Top 7 Ways to Clean It!
I've scoured the web clean (pun intended) to find the best ways to clean your patio wrought iron furniture and found 7 proven methods of varying degrees to clean your wrought iron.
1. Wipe with a clean cloth dampened with a mixture of water and a mild dish-washing detergent, such as Ivory.
2. Sand blast or shot blast to remove accumulations of the multiple layers or paint which have usually obscured much of the original detail.
3. A protective coat of liquid wax will make cleaning easier and retard rusting.
4. To remove rust stains, rub with kerosene, and scour with fine grade steel wool. If rust is difficult to remove, allow kerosene to remain long enough to loosen. Commercial rust removers may also be used.
5. Steam Cleaned (last resort)
6. Steel Wool and treat with rust-prohibitor
7. Silver Polish
So there you have it. Have fun with trying out some of these methods and let us know what worked best for you!
