Veterans Day is about all the Vets who have protected out country and our countryside!
Make a theme party! Make it a fund raiser for Vets and their families. One of my favorite causes is the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund which supports the state of the art vetertan's hospital.
In fact, 20% of my profit goes to that fund. But don't stop there, find ways to get your guests to pay up!
The Intrepid Fallen Heroes' Fund
I first heard of the Intrepid Fallen Heros' Fund in 2006. There had been so much about the paucity of good care available to wounded Iraq War vets, but then one day, while listening to Imus, of all people, He was raising money for the proposed hospital, one that would be the state of the art facility that our vets deserve.
I thought about helping, but you know how it goes. Life happens and you just don't get around to it.
Then the new husband of a co-worker was killed in Afghanistan. She quit to get a nursing degree to go and work with vets. I did a fund raiser for the future hospital and we bought a plaque in his name.
