I have watched and followed politics in these United States for the past 30 years, and at no time
can I recall us (U.S. citizens) being subjected to the level of punditry that we are exposed to today.
One of the leaders of this "pack" is Fox News' Sean Hannity. Night after night millions of citizens tune in to Hannity and Colmes to watch two grown men
attempt to create the facade that Fox is "Fair and Balanced." Right wing faithful tune in to cheer as Hannity makes assertion after assertion, the majority of the time false assertions aimed at anyone even slightly left leaning, all the while, Alan Colmes sits and awaits his turn to provide a weak rebuttal espousing the left point of view. Left wing faithful tune in to see what outrageuos garbage Hannity will spew next, certainly not because they enjoy him, it is somewhat like the saying "KEEP YOUR FRIENDS CLOSE, BUT YOUR ENEMIES CLOSER." Sean Hannity has made it his personal mission to point out the negative in the black community, while never acknowledging the positive. Mr. Hannity will very cleverly paint blacks as whiners, always looking for a handout and from my point of view there is a MINORITY in the black community that whines, however, the majority of blacks in this country face racism in one form or another every day, and are not looking for handouts. I am a black professional in a large southern city, and there is many a day that I, having to use elevators throughout the day, dressed in traditional business attire, find myself riding to my destination with a lone white woman that always seems to clutch her handbag a bit tighter for fear that I may be one of those "black criminals" she sees on television news. This is one example, but I could go on with many more, my point is that "elevator white woman" is representative of an America that has yet to grow up. It is fear of the unknown that drives racism, simply put, after all these years, black America is still a mystery to white America and Sean Hannity is the standard bearer for this dillemma we find ourselves in. Of course there are others, Rush "PILL POPPING" Limbaugh, Bill "PHONE SEX NUT" O'Reilly, Juan "SELL OUT" Williams, Ann "NEEDS DESPERATELY TO GET LAID" Coulter, and can't forget about that whole FOX and Friends crew in the mornings. These are all white people who could care less about learning about anyone that is different from them, and their beliefs, and it is these people that are on our airwaves daily purporting to be "great american's. The divisiveness created by the daily rants coming from "FAUX NEWS" is nearly criminal and certainly harmful to the nation. Now, with that said, we live in a country that provides for freedom of speech and ideas, and I support anyone's right as an American to speak out for what they believe in, but when it is a clear attempt to steer our daily discourse toward a particular point of view, from people who claim to be "in step with the real America," from people who don't have a clue as to what it is like to be a minority in this country, and frankly could care less, we have to step up and call them out for what they really are, lock-step, GOP tools that are on a mission to guide the country toward an agenda that doesn't really work for everyone in our country, but they wouldn't know because they are in the studio all day and reacting to what else, what they see on television. We as a Nation need to wake up to the organized manipulation and propaganda that confronts us on a daily basis. We need to begin to think for ourselves and not allow non-thinkers such as those folk at "Faux News" to make our minds up for us. A perfect example of the manipulation that we are subjected to is a report that can be seen on You Tube from Faux News' E.D. Hill. Following Senator Obama's now famous "fist bump" with his wife
Michelle before he was to give his speech after securing the Democratic nomination, she introduced a segment on her show that charachterized their show of affection as a "terrorist fist jab." Huh....
Of course she later apologized, but even most non-black folk understand that gesture to be a show of affection, but these people don't because they don't know anyone that is black, or dare I say anyone not white. Fox contributor Liz Trotta let's slip a not so funny joke about Obama being assassinated, and later apologized. Where does it end? Well it doesn't, there are many other mind boggling things that have come out of this network, You Tube has a wealth of these "faux pas." This is a network that holds up the likes of Oliver North, a liar, G. Gordon Liddy, a thief/liar, and Mark Fuhrman, a known racist, and buddy of Mr. Hannity, as regular contributors. When will we wake up people, not white, not black, not latino, not asian, but all of us collectively wake up and realize that we are being bamboozled on a daily basis by these people.

Through this lens it is my hope that people can begin to discuss the things that are really going on
within our borders, and take the focus off what is happening outside of them. This country that we live in today is certainly not the country that I grew up in when it comes to our core beliefs. That is because we are allowing pundits like Hannity to do our thinking for us, and marching lock-step behind an Administration that is clearly corrupt and elected by the Supreme Court, not the people.
What have we come to? Do your own research, find out what is really going on, and make up your own mind. Don't let a scumbag like Sean Hannity decide for you what to think, find out about what really happened in Florida in 2000, find out what really happened with Valerie Plame and "the leak," find out why Bush/Cheney find it necessary to circumvent the Constitution at every turn, find out why Bush/Cheney didn't want to testify before the 9/11 commission, and follow the course of events on that fateful day. ASK QUESTIONS!!!!! This is supposed to be a democracy, find out why Bush/Cheney never want to answer questions about anything. Don't let the propaganda machine that is FAUX NEWS inform you, inform yourselves.
