A True Dynasty!

I never thought I would be able to say this one day, but here it is. The New England Patriots are a True Dynasty in every sense of the word. Especially in this day and age, with free agency and the business of football. Players change teams so often that it is tough for a franchise to gain a consistent footing with their players and form a cohesive unit. Unless of course that team happens to be the New England Patriots. It really is amazing how they just get better every year. Oh no... New England lost their best corner Ty Law, that's alright, we'll just insert Asante Samuel and see what he can do. When Belichick released his defensive captain, Lawyer Malloy in 2003, and then lost to the team Malloy joined 31-0 on opening day in Buffalo many thought Belichick finally blew it.

But we all know how that regular season ended don't we... 31-0 Patriots over the, Bills and on to Super Bowl XXXVIII and victory in the Great Game number two.
As time went on you just knew if Brady could ever get the weapons that Manning had, he could do something special. Well, you are seeing what happens when you give a great quarterback options.

Why Bill Belichick ever thought he had to film an opponents defensive signals to get an edge is beyond me. He is already one of the best coaches ever, and now there will always be a "Yeah but" when people compare him with the other great coaches of the NFL.

2009 NFL Season is here!

Tom Brady is back.

A little less talk, a lot more action.

After watching both the Patriots and Jets games closely... and I tried not to watch the Jets game as only a Patriots fan would (but as a football fan). I was impressed with the Jets defense against... the Texans. Lets be honest, Matt Schaub was quite pathetic; he looked like the rookie out there. As for Mark Sanchez, he looked good against a defense that was very mediocre. And to be honest, he might be doing it again on Sunday!

There was a comment that I read some where that read like this:

"The Jets could win this game just so long as they make sure there aren't any hidden cameras around watching their coaches..."

Could we find any more out of date, more tired comment than that?

Okay, lets try to stay focused-

I think the Jets are the better team right now. They are not more talented, by any means, but more cohesive and feeling good about themselves, and hey, more power to them.

However, rather than do all manner of talking about Super Bowls, (regardless of when they are being played) why don't they just go out and let their play do the talking for them? The Jets could make a much louder statement by going out there on Sunday, smacking the Pats in the mouth (like I think they might be able to do based on what I saw this past weekend and Monday night) and then move on to the next game, and the next.

Their coach should be preaching that mantra in fact, but he is too busy strutting around prattling on about not kissing rings. Well, I don't recall anyone asking you to Rex. The thing is this, when you are young and so full of piss and vinegar as the Jets are, your ego is so fragile. You have so much further to fall due to all the chest pounding you are always doing. Why do you think coach's like Parcells and Belichik and Cowher always keep their players so grounded? If the Jets go out and get creamed on Sunday ( No, I don't think it will happen) what could that do to their collective psyche after all their trash talking since freakin March?

I know, I'm just a Pats fan, what do I know? I think the Jets will win the battle this week end, but in the end, the Patriots will win the war, and quite possibly the REAL Super Bowl.

Straight from the horses mouth sort of speak. This feed comes hot off the Pats own feed, it's hot off the press. And we all know Belichick loves to talk to the press right?...Right!

Tom Brady is NFL MVP

Its about time!

NFL news of the day.
Patriots quarterback Brady rides records to MVP Award
Well, the voters of the NFL MVP award have finally caught up to everyone else and figured out what every body else already knew...that Tom Brady is the NFL's best QB...this year and "every" year. The only difference about this year is, he was also voted the MVP.

FOXBORO - After Indianapolis, this was the game that gave cause for worry. This was when the Patriots had to face a talented opponent, in January, in conditions seemingly more suited for the grind-it-out Patriots of old. So now the Patriots are heading to the Super Bowl again, for the fourth time..

Spy-Gate

What was he thinking?

I have NO idea what Belichick was thinking when he decided to film the Jets defensive signals. Especially after all teams had been warned by Goodell. We all know the warning was aimed at the Patriots. And if we all knew, it stands to reason Bill knew too!
The sanctions that Goodell hit the Pats with I think were just shy of good enough. I think Belichick should have been suspended for 2 or 3 games or so with absolutely NO contact with the team. There is no excuse for what was going on on that sideline.

Having said all that; folks who suggest that the Patriots didn't deserve the 3 Super Bowls they have already won are just plain CRAZY and maybe a little bit jealous or are just plain stupid! Yeah, I went there! The Patriots are one of, if not THE BEST, football teams ever assembled. These current Patriot players would run rough-shod all over the Steelers of the 70's. Yeah...I went there too! And not because they are better football players, but because the guys today are bigger, faster, stronger, and are in MUCH better over all shape than in years past.

You know I heard Donovan McNab crying about maybe now they can get "their" ring back from 2005. McNab needs to move on and worry about today, and his current declining career, and not worry about a Super Bowl his team "LOST" two years ago.

There are others out there too. One guy in particular that I have always admired, and liked to hear talk because he knows his football, and knows a little about coaching too...Mike Ditka. He hates the Patriots and Bill Belichick with a passion he barely is able to disguise on TV. He doesn't want to hear any talk about the Patriots being the best team ever. Of course it stands to reason when his 85 Bears team is one of the those considered for that top spot, and with good reason, they very well might be.

Every one in the NFL knows crap like this "Spygate" is going on. What Goodell was trying to do was to put every one on notice.

"Woe unto you if you get caught." Well, Bill got caught, and damaged his own reputation in the process. Never being very well liked among most NFL insiders, he really put the proverbial nail into his public image coffin with this stunt. But time marches on, and it is amazing what people choose to remember in America. Does any one remember 9/11? You would never know it by the way they act toward America's security. But that is another rant isn't it? Sorry.

Not that Belichick cares much, but come Hall Of Fame time he may begin to care.
This whole "Spy Gate" thing is part of the reason why the Patriots were taking no prisoners this year. When people started talking about other Patriot teams accomplishments being tainted, all hell broke loose from Gillette Stadium. Since then Belichick and the Patriots have been on a mission to disembowel their opponents when they could. When they couldn't they were just happy for the wins, and in at least one case (Baltimore) they were damn lucky for the win!

Now that the regular season is over and the Patriots have finished it undefeated. Belichick and the rest of these patriots aren't even close to being satisfied. They have dedicated this year to all the detractors out there, of which there are many.

Matt Cassel & Mike Vrabel traded to Chiefs for second round pick... Ouch!

How Sweet It Is! Lets Make It Four

The First One

Is always the sweetest!

This hit on Kurt Warner characterized the type of game New England brought with them in the 2001 Super Bowl against the "Greatest show on turf."

Belichek knew the Rams were better than his Patriots. So he took the Rams out of their own game plan. He made them adjust to "his" game. The Rams couldn't do it. At least not enough to win the game. They certainly made it interesting in the 4th quarter. Until this hit. Warner had the Rams moving , and he was trying to get into a rhythm. One which the Patriots would refuse to allow. This one picture embodies that game for me, because the Rams were clearly caught off guard. Every one on the Patriots team were hitting, and hitting "hard."

Receivers were getting off their routes because they were getting smacked at the line of scrimmage and dogged a good distance down field. (The new rule of not blocking the receiver after five yards was put into effect because of this) Even receivers that managed to catch the ball paid for that catch with jarring hits by Lawyer Malloy, Ty Law, and Eugene Wilson. Teddy Bruschi, Mike Vrabel, and Willie McGinnest made themselves known that night with their bone crunching hits and pass rushing ability. The D-line was manned by 390 lb. Ted Washington, and a new comer named Richard Seymour.

And, I can't forget about the Patriots new QB? He only emerged as one of the better play callers in the league and was named Superbowl MVP in 2001 and 2003. But thats another whole lens right there. But in case you may have forgotten, his name is Tom Brady.

Hall Or No Hall?

That is the question.

With the current NFL season winding down and the Patriots and Bill Belichick poised to get their fourth Super Bowl in 7 years, what does this season's results (if the Pats win the Super Bowl) mean for Belichick?

There Was Plenty Of Reason To Celebrate...

After the Patriots defeated the Chargers for the second time this year, the still undefeated "Dream Team" could celebrate for a little while at least until such time as Belecheick brings them back down to earth in the coming days and reminds them that they stoled victory from the jaws of defeat the last time they played the "G-Men".
