So many dog, so little money.  As a foster mom for Ratbone Rescues, a national non-profit Rat Terrier Rescue, I see human failure at it's worst.

Broken, abused, neglected and simply unloved and uncared for dogs come through our rescue every day.  Many suffer simple neglect that can be fixed with love, patience, a good meal and warm place to sleep.  Others require so much more...they are the broken ones. A human being failed them in the most horrible way, leaving injuries and broken bones untreated. 

My specialty are the broken ones, those who need significant medical treatment to repair their orthopedic wounds.  Dogs spend 6-9 months with me, before being released from care and on to their forever homes.

To help raise money for surgeries which run $1000-2000 (even with a discount) I decided to use my talents to make jewelry.  Each piece is named for a dog which comes through rescue's doors.  Though none of the pieces tell their sad and often horrific tales, they serve as a reminder that a dog was saved by it's purchase.
