Affiliate marketing is without a doubt one of the easiest and most lucrative ways of making money online, but unless you build a list of targeted subscribers and follow up with them, you're unlikely to find much success.

Trying to make money with affiliate marketing can be an expensive up-hill struggle, if you do not know what you are doing and lets face it, most people don't! If you are trying to make money online by sending traffic directly to any affiliate links, you need to read this first!

1. Web hosting
2. An auto responder
3. Products to promote as an affiliate.

The simple strategy is, well really simple.

Step One: Set up a blog targeting the niche market you are going to be selling products in.

Step Two: Link your blog RSS feed to your auto responder and set it to publish a newsletter of the content published on your blog. Use a headline and description RSS feed. Do not display the full post in the feed, you want people to come back to your blog if they are interested in reading more.

Step Three: Promote the products you want to sell through the ad space on the blog and write a recommendation/ review for each product you want to make money selling.

The quality content you publish on your blog, brings the subscribers back to your site on a regular basis. Hopefully they will eventually get used to reading your blog and may even start or take part in discussions with other subscribers. All this makes them more likely to eventually perform the actions you want them to while visiting. Whether it be buying a product, clicking an ad, making a comment or what ever else you would like them to do.

If you have a site with targeted traffic, you can make money either selling them what they want to buy, or by allowing other people to sell them what they want to buy and pay you for the privilege placing ads on your site.

It's really that simple, in principle, but what I have told you so far leaves 2 problems.

Problem #1 - How to stay focused to spend the time to publish a weekly newsletter to your subscribers.

Problem #2 - How to get people to "opt-in" to your list.

It's the time and experience it takes to write all that quality content that your readers would be interested in commenting on that is the hard part. Isn't it?

Or is it?

Well, actually no, it's really not the hard part. In fact it is by far the easiest part. True, you will have to spend some time writing the reviews and recommendations for the products that you want to sell as an affiliate, but the day to day content for the weekly newsletter, you can have written for you, for free, very easily.

Quite frankly, once you have set the site up, you need not touch it again, unless you want to change your ads or write another product review.

The site will grow on its own and probably get some good search engine traffic. As well as the repeat traffic from your newsletter. It's just a question of knowing who to ask.

So how to you get people to write for your blog for free? Well, quite simply, you ask them. I can show you where to easily find a list of thousands of people in any niche market who would be willing to write unique content for you blog, for free.

Having other people write for you is also a great way to get additional traffic to your blog as every author who publishes content on your blog will be motivated to "market" their status as a chosen expert. They will be able to easily plug in targeted streams of traffic using their author specific RSS feed at social sites like twitter and Facebook et al. There is no reason why they would be unwilling to do so. Now it's not just the content you are having generated for you%u2026 but extra traffic too!

Of course, the people who write for your blog will do so for selfish reasons, not to help you out, but to help themselves out. However, as an affiliate marketer, this really should not bother you. You want to make sales of other peoples' products, perhaps even in niches you have no interest in. If you want to make money from more than a handful of blogs, you are going to need to get all that content from somewhere. Having it written just for your blog is the very best way. Your income is limited if you try to do it all yourself.

As an affiliate marketer, you are akin to a publisher. You need to build up resources of content that people will want to read and place your ads selling products they would like to buy, under their noses while they are reading. I don't mean "in their face".

This is a highly duplicatable system that will unlock a small income for you from every site you set up. The chances are that every author who writes for you will make more money from the site than you, but that's fine, they are the ones making the effort.

This is not a system that will likely make you thousands of dollars per month from a single site. It could do, you may get lucky, but it's unlikely to happen quickly.

The idea is to set up a "hands free" site (fully) and move on to the next. Do perhaps one per week for a year with the goal of every site making you $50 per month every month.

That's really not a bad income and surely not that hard to achieve.

The second problem is how to get people to subscribe to your newsletter. How can you get people to "opt-in" to receive updates from your blog? It's true that a certain percentage of your readers will subscribe to and bookmark you blog, especially after commenting. So if you have the quality content published eventually you will begin to build the list.

For most people, that's just too long a process, and when there are tools available to make it more likely for someone to subscribe to your blog feed; well, you would be a fool not to use them. As long as they are "ethical tools" not "black hat".

The tools that I recommend you use to build the list of people who subscribe to receive your newsletter are "squeeze pages" and "PDF Special Reports".

Any squeeze page you set up in this niche market can be directly linked to your newsletter subscription form. So that everyone who subscribes to your mailing list in this niche market will automatically receive your blog newsletter if they confirm their subscription to download the report.

Of course you tell them that they will be receiving this bonus and when to expect to receive your newsletter every week. They can opt-out if they want after getting their download, but why would they? It's a newsletter containing information that they have told you they are interested in.

With this system is does not really matter if you are interested in the market yourself. If the product is selling, you will be able to drive traffic to sell it with this method. You will be able to find people willing to write for you, and you will find people willing to subscribe to your newsletter and buy the products that you recommend.
