While we try organizations and international relations, Gandhi taught it is the INTERIOR of all people, praying, fasting and sacrificing that actually make the difference.
Three reasons to love Mahatma Gandhi
Still Extraordinary
Selflessness! Gandhi's approach had nothing to do with his personal interests- and in fact he sacrificed his comfort and his family's to bring about the change. Nobody in modern society is truly selfless anymore.Spiritual Intensity! Fasting strictly, and supporting others to do the same, brought the attention of God? The Universe? to the cause and succeeded where there could only be failure.
Reliance on the people, not politics or institutions! He never believed that the interests of the people would be served by institutions. Hidden agendas and monetary interests would always trade away the needs of the people.
He shows us what spiritual dedication can accomplish in the modern world. Too bad we haven't learned it.
