Peavey Max 126 Heavy Duty Bass Amplifier

Peavey Electronics was founded in 1965 by Hartley Peavey. Headquartered in Merridian Mississippi, the company produces quality sound equipment and quality musical instruments, including amplifiers, soundboards, microphones, guitars and basses.

Made famous by guitarists such as Eddie Van Halen, Ted Nugent, Joe Satriani, Jerry Cantrel and others, Peavey's amplifiers and guitars are designed with the blues, classic rock, and jazz player in mind.

They produce several lines of amps, including the Triple XXX, 5150/6505, Bandit Series, CS Series, JSX Series and Valve King series. Their line ranges from entry level products to full blown stage rigs for the professional musician.

Other notable Peavey products are their line of mixers that incorporate the latest technologies, advancing home recording setups on a budget, their guitars, which range from Eddie Van Halen's famous Peavey Wolfgang to beginner packages such as the Peavey Raptor Electric Guitar Package. Peavey manufactures just about everything music related.

With over 2400 employees, Peavey is constantly refining their lineup and introducing new products that keep up with the technological and quality oriented demands of today's musicians. They provide everything any musician could need to get up and running and sound great doing it.

I actually know an engineer that works at Peavey in Merridian. One of my college roommates' father in law works full time designing amplifiers at the factory. He was one of the people behind the Triple XXX series as well as many of the small combo amps that are produced.

I had the chance to visit his house a few years ago, and was amazed how he engulfed himself in his work. He was tinkering on one of the amps that he was designing, sitting on his living room floor with a screwdriver and soldering iron when I walked in. He was friendly and proud to display how he modified the Peavey amps that run his home stereo, producing ear bleeding volume.

The further towards the back of the house we went, the more music equipment I was encountered. One room housed nothing but electric guitars - I think he had over 30 in his collection, the next was nothing but amplifiers - wall to wall speaker cabinets. It was insane! He went on and on about his work and the amps he had - design features, specs, you name it. He could tell I was impressed.

Later, we went with my roommate to a local dive where he met up with his work buddies and hobnobbed about work and the local scene. Everyone there played an instrument, guitar, bass, keys, something! They all got together and watched the local bands, occupied by many of the workers themselves. I'd never seen a company with employees that were so centralized around their work. It was eye-opening. Ever since, I've had no trouble recommending Peavey products, they're crafted with a dedication that I've never seen anywhere else.
