Pedal Planes Inspired By WWII Army Pursuit Planes

Many of today's pedal planes were inspired by the WWII Army Pursuit Planes, such as this 1941 damaged one shown on an airfield at Pearl Harbor. Nearly 2/3 of these planes were destroyed in December 1941 in an air raid on Wheeler Air Force base in Oahu.

For aviation buffs or those who have relatives that fought in World War II, pedal planes, such as this one modeled after the 1941 Army Pursuit Planes, have become highly collectible. They're also very sought after as a kid's vehicle for the smallest aviation fans, our kids.

Here's another shining example of a 1941 Steelcraft Pursuit Pedal Car. Unfortunately I'm not the owner of this beautiful pedal plane, but I am in awe of it!

These retro pedal planes are very durable and very detailed. They're built of heavy gauge steel and unlike the original WWII fighting pursuit planes, they come with lots and lots of shiny chrome. The windshield, steering wheel, exhaust ports, hood scoops, propeller, and hub caps are all chorme. When the plane is pedaled, the propeller turns. How cool is that!

Pedal Toy Inspired By The Old "Sky King" Television Series

Who here is old enough to remember the old television series "Sky King"? Sky King was a 1940s and 1950s American radio and television adventure series. The main character was an aircraft pilot Schuyler (or Skyler) "Sky" King.

Since Skyler was also an Arizona rancher there were some western elements to the show, but King always captured criminals and even spies and found lost hikers using his plane.
King's plane was actually called the Songbird, but many pedal toys have taken on the name Sky King such as this "Sky King Pedal Plane".

Pedal Planes Aren't Just For Boys You Know

As a little girl, I was pretty much a tomboy! I played army with all the boys on the block. When it came to building forts I was the one with hammer in hand and hauling all the heavy stuff. But you don't have to be a tomboy like I was to own a great pedal toy modeled after an airplane. This "Pretty In Pink Pedal Plane" makes a very special kids vehicle for your little princess.

A pink kids vehicle that's a perfect pedal toy for every little girl. This plane practically named itself, it is 100% pink, 100% girl, and 100% retro. Our pedal plane is made of the same heavy gauge steel, just like the originals. But we added chrome and lots of it. Our windshield, steering wheel, exhaust ports, hood scoops, propeller, and hub caps are all chrome. When the plane is pedaled, the propeller turns. We make this plane in several color combinations and all of our planes come with a padded seat.

This Pretty in Pink Airplane pedal plane comes in grey detailing, chrome trim pieces, newly designed padded seat, and that 'oh so 50's' shade of pink that make this pedal plane a delight for your favorite little princess pilot.

Push Powered Airplane Ride On Toys For The Littlest Ones

Our Child Powered Airplanes We haven't forgotten the littler guys and girls whose legs just aren't quite long enough to reach the pedals. Little Sarah can deliver the mail to her friends and Jason can chase after her in his Red Racer Ride On. These are push powered airplanes. They are foot to floor so the kids can use their own power to move them along or mom and dad can push them down the block.

What better way to wear your children out (ha) and provide them with lots of great exercise and fresh air then spending the day pushing themselves along on these great little kids ride on toys.
