HERE'S WHAT I THINK

peets is better than starbucks

Peets is about real coffee. It's about being an aficionado rather than generalist. It's appreciating true dark coffee vs a watter down blend of nothing. Starbucks is for newbies to coffee drinking, peets is one who has been around and knows what he/she likes. There is no comparison.

You are so right. We take a side road to less expensive brands but always come back to Peets. It is the best.

Rachieface says:

TOTALLY! I thought Starbucks was all that and a bag of [insert something delectable here], but now that I can buy Peet's whole beans at my supermarket, I'm hooked. It just tastes better. Even the bitter aftertaste tastes better! Peets...it's worth making my husband get up first to make it!

BarbLauer says:

No contest. I pass a million Starbuck's to get to one of the two Peet's in my town.

Mr_Coffee says:

I know Megan, it's true! At least with NY coffee you get to enjoy the sites and sounds of Manhattan and the cup says "we are happy to serve you".

MeganCasey says:

I can't vouch for Peets, but boy does Starbucks coffee taste terrible! Give me the $0.50 coffee from a NYC street vendor over Starbucks any day.

No way, Monkeybrain!

Mr_Coffee says:

Ok reddog,
i will admit i haven't tried Tim Hortons, but coffee place that also serves sandwiches and soups...i'm sorry..how committed to
coffee could they be?

Reddog6 says:

The only REAL Coffee is Tim Hortons. Sorry but you have to live in Canada to get it.
