Hi Nelma, You can buy pegs for the game from a ceramic store...like those colorful plastic pegs used in ceramic Christmas trees or you can cut down a tee used in golf, then dip the tops in different colored paints. You also may find something at a hobby wood shop. Thanks for stopping by.

Where to buy the pegs for the game?
  • danatease Feb 4, 2012 @ 2:11 pm | delete
Hi JanetG some play you must help the partner to the left.
  • JanetG Feb 5, 2012 @ 7:22 am | delete
Yes, partners help the partner to the left to get all the pegs in safely. You win the game when ALL the partners have completed moving their pegs into the safe position. Thanks, danatease.

Hi Barb, You must get your last peg into the last whole with the exact number, however, you can play a 7 or 9. Use the number of moves you need to get in and split the remaining moves with your partner's peg.

when entering your castle with last peg do you have to have the exact number befor you can help you partner

Hi Some play that the joker can trade places on the board with any player or send them home or in spot if partner. Any number of players over 2 can play. Some boards will connect 3 others you must play 6 boards for 3 players. My wife likes to play 8 boards with 4 players it tends to be less cutthroat When you have 6 or 8 players you can have 2 player teams or 3 or 4 player teams with 6 or 8 players. Some play that you must split nines one peg forward and one peg backward. Aces can move 1 or 11 spaces. Last is that it seems to have more names than any other game I have ever seen.

Hi, Dan. Thanks for the info on Social Security. I can tell you are a true game player. I never heard of using extra boards in a game. We'll try that.

As the first player, what do you do when you have a joker but no face cards or aces? Can you get out with the joker?
  • JanetG Nov 10, 2011 @ 6:52 am | delete
Thanks for the question, John. Yes, you can get on the board with a Joker. If your opponent or partner is out, you can joker either one of them too. It's a bummer when you are the first one to play and have to use the joker to get out, but it's better than not getting out. Have fun!

Hi Donna, I believe you can try playing with only 5 players. Just use 5 of the boards and make a pentagon shape. You won't be able to play partners, so you will be on your own. No help from a partner when jokering you to send you to your castle, you wiill automatically go home. Let me know how it goes.

Can five players play Pegs & jokers, if so what are the rules? We have only played with four players but would like to include a single friend too.

I'm looking for the Pegs & Joker game board and it seems very hard to find and expensive. Does anyone know where to buy other than Ebay? Thanks
  • JanetG Jul 28, 2011 @ 9:52 am | delete
We usually bought our games while we were camping. There are many folks who build and sell them at camping shows, flea markets, or right at their campsites.
  • danatease Jan 29, 2012 @ 2:04 am | delete
The reason they are expensive is they take a long time to make. The cost of materials for the ones I make are around $7 or $8 and over a $1500 worth of equipment. Some RV camps have wood shops in them find one and make your own set.

I am looking for the rules of the game Social Security. It is somewhat similar to Pegs and Jokers.
  • JanetG Nov 23, 2010 @ 8:10 am | delete
Leo, I thought Pegs and Jokers and Social Security were the same game, just different names in different areas of the country/Canada.
  • danatease Jan 29, 2012 @ 2:12 am | delete
Most that play Social Security are very much the same the jack move 11 queen 12 king 13 and just like pegs and jokers the rest of the rules is all over the place. some play that you draw a card and play it you don't hold any cards.

What about Mexican Train? For Lord's sake, that's what you taught us years ago. Our entire family is hooked on dominoes...it's played over the holidays from Illinois to Florida......our two-year old grandchild received her first domino set for Christmas last week!

We like any game played with Janet G and R Ted!

Sounds like fun!! I'll have to look into this one.
