PenAgain Review

The PenAgain Allows For Ergonomic Writing

I first came across the PenAgain while browsing the shelves at Walmart and bought it merely because I thought it looked neat. One year later, and now a quadriplegic, the PenAgain has proven to be my proverbial lifesaver.

Available in both disposable and refillable formats, the PenAgain is shaped like a wishbone. You place your finger through the top of the y-shape and this forces you to correctly grasp the pen. The weight of your hand automatically creates enough tension for the PenAgain to write without straining your fingers.

Great For People With Disabilities

Got Arthritis?

From the perspective of a quadriplegic with limited hand function, I have found that so far, the PenAgain is the only pen I am able to write with. Even without the ability to grasp, by placing my index through the PenAgain and using the downward pressure created by my pen, I have enough control to write simple notes.

This pen would be a huge benefit for people with other conditions such as arthritis, Fibromyalgia, cerebral palsy, etc.

Pros And Cons

Some of the best features of the PenAgain are its ergonomic design, ease of use and the fact that it forces you to correctly grasp the pen, thus reducing stress and fatigue. It comes in a variety of colors and tend to attract attention as they are still relatively unknown.

The only complaints I have about the PenAgain is (from the perspective of someone with a disability) that it's difficult to click open--though clicking it closed is as easy as pushing a button.

The metallic pens are even more challenging as they have to be twisted open and with no traction on the hard metal, this is one feat I have yet to accomplish on my own.

For a pen, the penAgain is well-priced -not much more than you'd pay for any other pen of the same quality. It's more than worth the money if you need something solid to write with.

I had never heard of this, but love the idea. I find after typing so much, when I need to use a pen it is not comfortable. This looks great.

Khaleeka! Hello, I just stumbled upon your blog and noticed your review of the PenAgain. Happy to see that it's helpful to you. My company sells this wonderful product in the U.S. and see so much potential as an assistive tool. Thanks for the positive review and I will take your note about the difficulty clicking open the pen to the developers. Best wishes, Sam Baumgarten - www.baumgartens.com.
