Old Fashioned Easter Egg Hunt, Easter Parade, Games, Crafts, Prizes and Goodies

We Sure Have FUN
In PendleTON!

The historic Village Green in Pendleton SC has been the site of many an Old Fashioned Easter Egg Hunt and the tradition was last held on March 28, 2010 from 2 to 5 pm. It began with an Easter Parade which was small this year due to the threat of rain but that didn't hold back the approximately 300 participants who were ready to hunt and participate in the games, relays and crafts with lots of prizes and goodies.

In 2010, the event was sponsored by Friends of the Park and organized by Pendleton High School's Environmental Awareness Club. There was a small charge for the games and crafts that almost covered the expenses by Friends of the Park. The Environmental Awareness Club donated the proceeds from the Bake Sale to the Anderson County Animal Shelter.

The rain held off until after the event and a lot of children showed up to enjoy the afternoon! Thank you to the many volunteers and donors who made this day possible.

NOTE: AS OF APRIL 12, 2011 NO ONE HAS VOLUNTEERED TO ORGANIZE THIS EVENT. PLEASE CALL TOWN HALL IF YOU ARE INTERESTED.

We did not have the Easter Egg Hunt on the village green in 2011 because no one could organize it. Please call Town Hall if you are interested in being the sponsor of this event for 2012. It would be so wonderful to have this event again.

Easter 2012 is April 8 which is the same weekend as Spring Jubilee so surely there will be an Egg Hunt. I will keep you posted as soon as I get the word.

Thank You, Environmental Awareness Club

These Pendleton High School Students and their Sponsors worked hard to bring us this special event.

Environmental Awareness Club at Easter Event 2010

The threat of rain didn't dampen their spirits. This great group of teenagers worked very hard to make this event a success!

Who is the EAC?

Environmental Awareness ClubThis is a fine group of young men and women from Pendleton High School who are concerned about our environment and our community. They have selflessly volunteered to work with Friends of the Park on this event as well as the maintenance days at Barrett's Place Playground.
Thank you, EAC!

Special Thanks To Everyone Who Donated Eggs, Money, or Candy

For the Pendleton Easter Event

We try to recycle the plastic eggs each year but only had about 1000 saved from last year. We are so appreciative to all the individuals and clubs that have Stepped Up To The Plate and donated the needed money, eggs, and candy. Special thanks to Hevy Mann who donated the Cotton Candy. Thanks to the PHS clubs and individuals who donated and stuffed eggs. Also thanks to Becky and Larry Oliver, Beth and Gene Howe, Kim and Bill Beck, Doc and Nancy Hellams and Ed and Davie Kirkley for their donations. Pendleton Area Council gave us a $25 donation that really helped.

This year we ordered 1,000 of the toy stuffed eggs from National Entertainment Technologies Inc in Marshfield, Missouri. These plastic eggs are made in the USA and assembled at sheltered workshops for the disabled. They are very reasonably priced. They also sell the candy filled eggs for the same price but we are fortunate enough to have had approximately 1,300 of those donated locally including the ones left over from last year.

The Environmental Awareness Club will have Recycle Bins around the Village Green and we would greatly appreciate the children turning their eggs back in so that we will be able to bring you this event again next year. Thank you.
