Internet Marketer Penelope Cox: What Is She Really All About?

My Bio says I'm an Internet Marketer, and have a passion for helping people realize they do have options in life for creating & developing their own financial security beyond the corporate arena (which is my mission statement and very true) - But - I probably need to go beyond that (like, way beyond that).

SO - I consider this lens to be an ongoing "Story of my Life." Stay tuned!!

And, if there is anything you want to know about me - ask me. I will be very transparent with you, for I believe in Squidoo, our community here and the online opportunities for establishing financial security along with a world of new friends.

Belief System - Perseverence & Tenacity

Your Mindset Will Drive Your Success - The "Can Do" Attitude Regardless The Odds

Potential means nothing, if you don't have the Perseverence and Tenacity to go along with it.

I was fortunate to of had phenomenal mentors in life, starting with my parents. I never once received negative input growing up. I was taught I could achieve anything I wanted, and was given those opportunities to do so. My parents worked as a team developing their own pharmaceutical firm and achieved millionaire status during their peak earning years. I had in my DNA at birth, the "can do" philosophy.

I was gifted athletically, so searched for the best tennis coach in the world, and landed in California qualifying among the top 300 in the world competing on the Virginia Slims Qualifying Tour.

My tennis coach taught me how to win at the game of life, and when I walked out on the court I was taught to walk out to win - regardless the score.

If I was down 0-6, 0-5 in the 2nd - I knew I was going to still win. I developed a level of perseverence and tenacity that is unmatched.

Belief System - You Become Who You Network With

Your Net Worth Is Equal To Your Network

You become who you network with. Your net worth, is equal to your network.

One of my closest mentors and friend of 35 years was a very successful entrepreneur in the movie theatre business (estimated net worth of over $800+MM). I lost him to cancer. He shaped his industry and gave back so much to the world. I spent many afternoons walking West LA listening to his vision, and learning how successful people carry a common thread - which is their positive approach on life. There also seems to be present a very strong spirutal element, as well.

I have been studying this approach since my tennis years in the 70's. One book I strongly suggest reading, which I talk about below in my "Recommended Reading" area, is "The Traveler's Gift." The 7 Decisions discussed in the book summarize nicely how I try to continue to live both my business and personal life.

The 2nd Decision in "The Traveler's Gift" strikes a cord with exactly what I'm talking about here. And, that is "I Will Seek Wisdon." "I will choose my friends with care. I am who my friends are. I share their opinions and their habits."

"If I associate with eagles, I will learn to soar to great heights. I can make decisions only according to what I already know. By counseling with a wise man, I add his knowledge and experience to my own and dramatically increase my success."

Belief System - Continue To Learn To Give More

"Always Do Something Good For Someone Else, In The Knowing, They Can Never Repay You."

I am learning to give more. A statement that is always made by the Vice President of Leadership Development (John Jackson) in my Direct Sales Global Internet Marketing Business, at the conclusion of our leadership training calls, is - "Always do something good for someone else, in the knowing, they can never repay you."

Everyday I try to always do something for someone - So - what did I do today?

I was leaving the IRS parking lot in downtown Kansas City, and I saw an elderly lady who was dismantling her red motorized wheelchair and lifting it into the trunk of her car. I stopped, asked to help, and lifted the heaviest part of the remaining red wheelchair and put it into her trunk.

I simply smiled, said "you're welcome" and walked on. I felt good that I did something for someone, in the knowing they can never repay me.

What did you do today??

Top 5 List

Top 5 Things I Make Certain To Do Each & Every Day

OK. This is Fun. Here we go, and not in any order:

1) Morning Ritual. We all have one. Brush and Floss. Yes, I floss most definitely. Eat a light healthy meal, usually. Fruit, juice, coffee, english muffin, cereal (and "no" not Cheerios).

2) Tell my family "I love them." And, since I'm an animal lover that includes hugging my fur buddies, brushing them and letting them know how special they are.

3) Talk to God. Let him know how blessed I am, but also share my vision, direction and timing on all I am striving to achieve. I am working on strengthening my spiritual side.

4) Learn something/expand on something/implement something in my global internet marketing business.

5) Always do something for someone, in the knowing, they will never be able to repay you.

+ Need to add one more to this list;
6) Exercise. I have slipped on this lately and want to get back to feeling good about my body (if I can put it in those terms). I have always worked out 4x's weekly. I try to walk everyday, but want to get back to the aerobic stuff, and using my "Urban Rebounder" here at my home.

+OK. I have one more thing I should really add:
7) A Glass of Wine. Yes, I do enjoy wine. Merlot is one of my favorite's. So, if any of you want to send a case of wine my way - just call me and we can surely arrange the shipping & handling.

The Wedding

With My Family At The Racquet Club In Philadelphia

I was raised that family and friends are the most precious thing we have in life. (OK -I agree - alittle cash in the bank helps, as well).

I was fortunate to of had several mentors in life (who you will meet along the way). One, was my dear old Great Aunt Deedie, who just passed away at 97. She always took her address book with her when she travelled (she never caught onto using an iphone), and when she arrived in town she always stayed in touch by calling.

Once a friend - always a friend. As a result, my childhood friends from elementary school (Hubbell Elementary in Des Moines, Iowa) - remain my closest friends.

David & Lisa (nephew/wife) live in a condo in Manhattan, NY. Doug & Jan (brother/sister-in-law) live downtown Phily in their 4-story brownstone. Krissy (niece) lives in her recently purchased condo in DC. Very proud of all of them. A very Urban family lifestyle. A long way from Iowa where Doug (my brother) & I are originally from.

"The Traveler's Gift" by Andy Andrews

I am a strong believer in the importance of "mindset." Potential means nothing unless you have the right "mindset" for success.

I have also learned the importance of understanding your "why." I was coached by the #1 top producing realtor in the world, when I was building my real estate business, and it was during that period when I understood the importance of having your "why." What is your reason for wanting XXX?

This book touches on the "seven decisions that determine personal success." And, I'll give you the 1st of seven decisions: "The buck stops here." You accept responsibility for your past. You are responsible for your success. You are where you are today because of decisions you have made. Your decisions are governed by your thinking. You are where you are today, because of how you think.

My personal thoughts I live by: What you think, determines what you do. What you do, determines your lifestyle.

My favorite quote: "Just Do It."

A Great Book. You can pick it up here, on Amazon. Just click on the "BUY NOW" button below.

You sound like the COOLEST person. I'd like to get to know you better! I'm a newbie to CCPro. I'm having some trouble staying focused...there is so much available! I agree CCPro has got to be the BEST of the BEST to be a part of. I wonder if you would share with me what you started with. You sound like you are very savvy. I wish that I had a great mentor like you did. I'm not lazy just a little hesitant.
By the way I'm a Philly girl to! I was born in Philadelphia in 1949 so you can see I'm an OLD newbie. I was not raised there, we moved to NJ when I was 7.
Anyway, I really enjoyed reading your lens.
Any tips you can give me would be greatly appreciated!
My Squidoo page is not yet published...soon I hope!

Ginny, thank you for your dear message. I know exactly what you mean in terms of focus. We all hit that "focus" wall. Yes, I definitely have a strategy I used to overcome that. I am the "focus" queeen and it is working. Call me and we will talk. You are part of CCPro and we all help each other, is my philosophy. When you get this message, just call my home office and leave a message and tell me when you're available, and let's talk thru this for about 15-20 minutes. My office is 816-442-8638. I'm in Kansas City, so it's CTZ.

Hello again, I am not stalking you or anything. I liked your lens. Are you going to the event in Florida at the end of March?

You are too funny. You must be part of the great and growing CCPro. I have plans to be with family at our new jersey shore home. But, I love CCPro and all they are doing and all they are helping me do, as well. I was at Vegas. Were you there? And, thank you so much for the complement. I am finding, as you are too, that keeping up on the social media sites is a bit time consuming and am learning tools to make this more automated, yet meaningful with building relationships. So, don't get onto the sites every day and miss great messages, like yourself. Please stay in touch, and let me know how your business is going? Hey, join me on Twitter (I'm spending most every day on TW), or also on FB You can find me on FB at Penelope Cox. Catch ya.

Welcome to Squidoo Penelope! :) Hopefully you'll continue to build lenses and with time learn how to bring this to level of masters! :) I can see you're really dedicated person and wish you find time to show your dedication in building more lenses!
BTW, it's great that you, as internet marketer, didn't start with 'buy this', 'click that' lens! ;) Unfortunately, too many marketers mistake online marketing for spamming!
