Penguin Chat

If Penguins could talk what would they say?
Penguins of course, are birds, and have their own secret code for conversing with each other but often their actions can look so, so ... human. Have you ever looked at a photo and thought of a funny saying, or caption, that would go with the picture? Here's your chance to write the caption to a photo! Be creative and post your own.
Give me your idea what these penguins are saying, write your own captions.
No penguins were harmed during the building of this lens.
St Kilda Penguins
Local Little Penguins

From the pier at St Kilda, with the city in the background.
Back in 1956, Melbourne hosted the the Olympics. A breakwater was built in St Kilda to shelter yachts competing in these Games.
Just 5 kilometres from the Central Business District, St Kilda is a densely populated area and always busy with tourists. It's just a short bus ride for me to see one of the loveliest sights ever - wild creatures silhouetted against the background of the city lights.
For, incredibly, Little Penguins have made St Kilda Breakwater their home.
Penguins Galore
The Little Penguin (Eudyptula minor), native to New Zealand and southern Australia, is also known as the Fairy Penguin. These fellows come ashore to breed and, while in St Kilda the city lights don't bother them at all, other colonies aren't so easy to stumble across.
There are 17 known species of penguins living along the coast of Antarctica. The majority of the remainder inhabit coastlines from the Antarctic Circle to temperate regions even farther north. You find them in the Falklands and the Galapagos, around South America and on islands off southern Africa.
Have a look at these penguins from Antarctica and make up your own mind what they could be saying to each other.
Happy Penguins
Penguins really do Talk
From the magnificent BBC production with David Attenborough.
In Antarctica the giant chick creches are full of chatter as parents communicate with their young, and with each other.
How about you?

The Future of Penguins
Adelies like the cold even more than other penguins, and the peninsula is warming up with temperatures increasing at least five times faster than the world average.
Like miners' canaries, the penguins of Antarctica are sounding the warning of danger to come.
