Penguin Readers Series - Classic Childrens Books

Ranked #16,622 in Books, Poetry & Writing, #676,340 overall

Childrens Classic Literature

Penguin publishes a very nice selection of Children's classic literature, much of it unavailable anywhere else. One of their more innovative offerings is the Penguin Readers Series a large selection of children's books arranged according to reading levels. These groupings aren't necessarily equivalent to a particular grade or age they are simply an arrangement of books from the easiest to the hardest. When a child has mastered the level one books, they move on to level two. It's all self-paced. Brilliant!

News

This page originally used some pretty nifty RSS technology to list all the Penguin children's books, but that "blew up." I'm listing them by hand now, since there's no telling when (or if) I can get that working again

You might find it easier just to go to the unedited list.

New Link List

Penguin Group Top 50 Lenses
Nobody beats Squidoo when it comes to burying the lead. Their Penguin Group Headquarters has failed to meet their own belatedly-imposed quality standards for over two years now.
The Children's Library Collection from Penguin
From the title, I expected this to be a collection of picture-books and bed-time stories. There are a few of those, but generally this would be better termed The Teen & Young Adult Collection.
Meet The American Girls
The Squidoo community has not been kind to this lens. apparently it is possible to insult their intelligence when your target audience is third-graders! Adults might prefer American Girl for Grown-Ups.
Teen Pleasure Reading @ Amazon.com
There's a whole genre of popular fiction just for teens and young adults, and this is a good place to find the current bestsellers.

I've never quite been sure what distinguishes a blog from a regular webpage. Timeliness seems to have something to do with it, but that doesn't seem to be a hard and fast rule.

Anyway, here are some of the things I've been working on lately...
