The Peoplesoft Learning Management System is a corporate learning program that helps corporations build the knowledge and skills of their employees instead of having to spend the time and money to recruit new individuals.

Back in the day before there was this main stream of computers, the natural learning focused on the instructor and student in the classroom. But since the evolution of all the computer technology, the focus has been on the individual learner and the eLearner factor. Corporations then started to purchase eLearner courses from an outside vendor in order to educate their employees. This lead to the administrators wanting to create their own series of learning tools so that these tools could be used over again and just upgraded when needed.

This is how the learning content management system came about. But it was found that the learning process needed to be a blended type of learning instead of just focused on the learner. It should be a combination of eLearning, instructor led courses, on the job training, and knowledge management.

With this type of blended learning, there has to be an implementation of a managing system that can keep track of all this learning. The Peoplesoft Learning Management System is just the system to accomplish this.

The Peoplesoft Learning Management System breaks all this learning up into segments which are Learning management components, learner interaction components, strategic enterprise components, and enterprise information management components. The corporation would choose which components or which set of components would be right for their management needs.

The Peoplesoft Learning Management System helps the corporations to organize all of their learning factors and be able to keep the status of which employee did their mandatory learning module and which employee did not. There are regulations with corporations that have to be met in order for them to stay in business. The Peoplesoft Learning Management System will keep track of all this information so that the corporation does not miss any regulation policies.

The Peoplesoft Learning Management System is a major asset to any corporation no matter how big or small. It focuses on extending learning beyond the enterprise, automating the learning to retain the knowledge base and eliminate skill gaps, providing learning advice, and gaining visibility and insight into the companies learning needs.
