- Thanks for the hot chocolate recipee. My son loves hot chocolate...fixes him a "go-cup" every morning to take with him on the school bus. Funny...like he's brining coffee or something. I'll have him try this recipe and see if he can rate it higher than Swiss Miss..

- Definitely going to try some of your flavor variations... I think that I'm in a rutt as far as my hot chocolate goes. All I usually do is add a little cinnamon to mine. Your suggestions sound pretty impressive. Off to look for some candy canes. :)

- Super lens! My own favourite is Green & Black's cocoa (link) made with hot milk (full fat of course!). It's possibly even nicer with a small dash of Cointreau added to it...

- Great lens!
I don't have a special hot cocoa appliance, but I do have a special pint-size pot to heat the milk. I've also got a special cocoa mug (that I've had since I was a kid).
Since it's warm here (in NY) now, lately I've been making my own version of frozen hot chocolate (cocoa, sugar, a little half&half, and ice cubes --- whipped up in the blender. It's a chocolate smoothie!

- The best hot chocolate for us is Jaques Torres Wicked. It is like nothing you have ever tasted before. Also Marie Belle Aztec is a close second. We have had both prepared in their in-house cafes in NYC and have made both at home. Either way they are great. You can order off their websites too.
