Almost nothing gives me more anxiety than getting a haircut! It might be because I haven't found that right stylist yet.

I don't care what color it is, I just need more hair.

Great lens, thank you for the advice! I'm on a quest to find that perfect "retro red" that complements my fair skin and navy eyes. My last coloring was with a new hairdresser who did great work, but I really wasn't satisfied with the shade of red -- it was too orange for me. It's time for a new cut and color, and I'm going back to the same stylist with lots of photos this time. Wish me luck! ~Vicki~

So did you get a good color?

Thanks for all the good tips and information. I have no idea what type of style and cut would be the best for me. Left to my own devices with no direction I'd not do well.

It is hard to find a good hairdresser. I found one and she moved to another country. Now, am on search for one. I keep trying but have found no one yet. Your guide is useful.

My hairdresser is a good friend who is just finishing cosmetology school. She told me about some of the really BAD things that can happen if a stylist doesn't know (or worse, doesn't think to ask!) about prior colors, perms, or chemicals.

You have a lot of good information on here, thanks for the tips! I do have a hairdresser I'm loyal to but sometimes I find myself going to another for a fresh new look (although I will always go back to my usual one). Good luck with your hairdressing career! (:

Most hairdressers assume I want the standard short cut that most 55+ sport. I do most of my own clipping. I do not like the fresh cut look on me. Hey, welcome to Squidoo.

My hairdresser just closed her shop, so I have to start over looking for someone I trust. I need someone who can cut "chemo hair," my now very thin hair following chemotherapy. I didn't lose it all and I already wear it short, but it definitely needs work. Any advice?

Haven't seen any activity yet that I am aware of but it is a project I am working on to write more. Blog more. And to have more content for future projects. It is helping me in regard to defining strategies and crystalizing my plan for the business.

My favorite hairdresser is 300 miles away, so it's a bit of a problem getting my hair cut. I have a backup, but have never found anyone I like as much.
