Oh yeah, as a perfectionist, I stop myself from doing many things if I know I won't do it well or better than someone else. It sucks to have this frame of mind but I've gotten better as I age.

    Q. "Will you only ever run in races you are guaranteed to win?" A. "No."

Funny: "Do not use orally after using rectally." -- In the instructions for an electric thermometer.

Hilarious: "Warning! This is not underwear! Do not attempt to put in pants." -- On the packaging for a wristwatch.

Great lens. Personally, adding WAY too much to my plate sent my stress level through the roof, but when the world didn't collapse (or even notice) when I wasn't at my best, I knew I could give up the whole perfectionism thing... not a fun learning process, but SO FREEING!

A truly clearly written lens. I have never seen the contents on this important topic written so convincingly. Reading through the list of beneficial ideas rang bells in my precious little gray matter as well -- Learning the art of mindfulness can be a great way to fight perfectionism. Because you learn to stay with the reality (not ideals or dreams) moment by moment. The ensuing attitudes of acceptance and tolerance will surely reduce the tendency to be "perfect" that is just an illusion and waste of time. What do you think?

Thanks for a wonderful lens. I have lensrolled it on all my three lenses on mindfulness.

I find it interesting how perfectionism and procrastination seem to go hand in hand at times. I have been blogging about procrastination and I find it hard sometimes to complete posts as I always want them to be prefect. Thanks for the insights!

Glad to have helped. I have of course taken an interest due to to my own limiting fear of failure and perfectionism - I want everyone to maximise their potential and not have to look back with regret.
    I wish you the best

    Hi
I found this lens so helpful, I have failed in my life many times to try things because I fear failure and I am a great procarstinator. Perhaps understanding the root of my fear may help me to modify my bahaviour. Thanks for making the time to make such a great lens, I have given you five stars. and favourited it.
