Introducing Pergamano Parchment Craft

Discover this Beautiful Paper Craft

Pergamano Parchment Craft involves creating beautifully embossed, delicate designs on parchment paper. The craft utilizes a combination of techniques which include pattern tracing, embossing, stippling, perforating and coloring.

Although parchment craft in various forms has been around for centuries, Pergamano Parchment Craft originated in the Netherlands. (Pergamano is the brand name). This craft is highly popular in Europe, becoming popular in South America and just beginning to appear in North American craft stores.

The picture to the left is a small "beginner level" gift tag. As you can see, even brand new beginners can turn out an attractive project -- although at the advanced level, Perganamo parchment craft is truly an art form.

Basic Tools for Pergamano Parchment Craft

As is true with most crafts, one can purchase many, many tools and supplies to create Pergamano projects. However, beginners can start with very few.

The Pergamano Starter Kit contains all the tools you need to begin -- including seven patterns and enough parchment paper to create the seven projects.

The starter kit contains the following tools and supplies:

1. A tracing pen and one bottle of white Tinta ink
2. One Dorso crayon for tinting parts of all of a project
3. One embossing tool
4 One "I tool" used for stippling and perforating.

These tools are really all you need to get started. You can often purchase them individually at craft stores or at various online stores, including Amazon and eBay.

The many other tools and supplies can be added as your skill progresses, or as desired.

The Shortcuts

Those looking for shortcuts to creating Pergamano Parchment Craft sometimes "cheat" by tracing the pattern with a white gel pen. It's not "the real thing" but it works.

Another shortcut involves using a rubber stamp and stamping ink instead of a Pergamano pattern. The video below demonstrates this technique.
