I looking for the 1940 movies of Perry Mason. It was Raymond Burr. They were old B&W shows recently on TCM. I'm trying to see if they are on DVD.

This is a great Perry Mason website. However, you forgot one of the books: The Case of the Murderous Bride. It came out in 1969, between The Case of the Fabulous Fake and The Case of the Crimson Kiss.

Hi, an excellent and very thorough lens for murder mystery fans. As a fan of murder mysteries you may also be interested in my lens on Play Poirot in Agatha Christies Death on the Nile Game.

At the age of 12 in 1972 or thereabouts, I learned to read Pery Mason series through my dad. I liked Es Gradner's writing style so much that I read and re-read his books many times in my life so far. However, many might not agree, but I didn't enjoy the televised Raymond Burrrrrr series. I have now introduced E S Gradner to my 11 year old daughter who is hooked on it. Since ,most of his books are out of publication and not easily available through the libraries, we are struggling to get the books. This is excellent site and well done. Excellent source for Pery Mason, Della Sreet, Paul Drake, Lt. Tragg lovers and a boo! to Sgt. Holcombe.

Terrific lens! You might want to add information on the annual Erle Stanley Gardner Mystery Weekend in Temecula where the author lived much of his life. This year's event is the first week of November and they're celebrating 50 years of Perry Mason. There's a mystery writing contest and more.

Sorry Robin, it looks broken, Will attempt to find others but it's possible that the owners of the copyright are seeking and taking action against those publishing these online! They might not be free, but many of the books are available on amazon very cheaply, just check other editions available.

I've been crazy about Perry Mason since the first case I read in my teens. In fact, he's important enough to me to be mentioned in my bio/lensography lens. It's great to have this great reference lens. Thanks!

It seems to be a little mentioned fact that the two Chastain novels were based on episodes from the TV series. It's not mentioned in the novels themselves. I only know this because a few days after I had read The Burning Bequest, I was watching the show and there it was on television.
