Personal Development for Prosperity

Your future can change whether you believe it or not. The power of thought through Personal Development can and will have a profound impact on your future.

Many people have asked me to explain what Personal Development and Prosperity mean.

Let's start by taking the Webster's Dictionary meaning of the words.

Personal:  of, pertaining to, or coming as from a particular person; individual

Development:  the act or process of developing; growth; progress

Prosperity:  the condition of being successful or thriving; especially : economic well-being

In essence Personal Development for Prosperity would mean using knowledge for growth however you may choose to obtain and making it part of your life and using this to create the conditions of being successful in all avenues of your life.

Sounds very simple. You must of course make that first decision to seek knowledge and then take action to make it part of your life.

There are so many resources available - where does one start?  You may have already looked but have been confused and somewhat overloaded with all the information.  You are seeking though and this is why you are here right now!  I am sure that I can provide you with solid information that will direct you to starting your incredible journey of discovery.

Stay tuned and watch for more!

Positive Affirmations

How they can change the way you feel

An average adult body is 50 to 65 percent water -- that's roughly 45 quarts. Men are more watery than women. A man's body is 60 to 65 percent water, compared to 50 to 60 percent for a woman. In infants, the figure is a whopping 70 percent according to statistics compiled by the International Bottled Water Association.

Masaru Emoto has discovered that molecules of water are affected by our thoughts, words and feelings and has developed a way to photograph water crystals to prove his findings. In his book "The Hidden Messages in Water", only amplifies why positive affirmations are so important.

As you can see from the first paragraph, our body is over 50% water. Whatever your thoughts, words or feelings you send to your mind, your body will absorb. Start your day with gratitude and continue throughout the day with positive affirmations and you will begin to feel better about yourself and your surroundings.

For further reading, I strongly suggest Emoto's book. It will change your attitude.

The Importance of a Daily Journal

Have you started yours?

One of the first things to become accustomed to doing daily is writing in your journal. It was one of the hardest things for me to do as at first I did not understand the importance of the task. Now when I open my journal, I welcome the exercise.

First you may find it difficult but as with everything else, it will become easier and be something that you enjoy doing. Remember that this is for you, not for anyone else.

During the course of the day you will experience many emotions. Write them down in as much detail as you can and the reason those emotions were created. After time, you will discover a pattern of your emotions, be they good or bad. For you to grow and to expand, you have to learn to recognize both and begin to change those actions that produce negative actions.

You will be amazed that when you re-read your journal at a later date how some of the things you wrote about, you allowed them to produce a negative reaction. You will begin to work only on the positive and grow.

Don't be scared! Start to today. You will look back and ask yourself, why you did not do this before - trust me!

Getting Started on Your Journal

Stuck? Read This!!

The first thing you must do is choose your journal.

Now you may seem that this is rather a weird topic but think about this for a moment. If you are a die hard baseball fan, you would not choose a journal that had a picture of a ballerina or a rose on the front! So choose one that represents you. I also suggest that you purchase a journal with NO lines. My reason, you may ask. When you begin to write in your journal, consider yourself an artist with a blank canvas. An artist will fill his canvas with the picture in his mind. You will fill your canvas with words. If you restrict yourself to write between the lines, you have already put yourself in a box. The reason for your journey of Personal Development is to get you out of your box!!

OK. So now you have your journal. Does it feel good to hold? Are you happy with your purchase? This will become an extension of you, so it is very important that you feel comfortable and are excited about the journey you are about to take!

Stay tuned and more tips on how to get started will be showing up here!!

S.M.A.R.T GOALS

Learn to set Goals the SMART way

The definition of S.M.A.R.T. GOALS is readily available and here is how they were explained to me with the program that I use. Setting goals seems a relatively easy thing to do, but you would be surprised at the number of people who have NEVER set one goal in their life. I always had dreams but until I started my own personal journey of development, I never knew the right way to set down a goal. So pay attention!

S - SPECIFIC: Identify your precise why and what you are passionate about. It may be financial, spiritual, health, material, etc. For example, if your goal is financial, what exact amount do you want to earn, and most importantly, what it will provide. If your goal has to do with weight reduction, how much do you wish to take off and what size will you wear? If your goal is to buy a car-know the color, make, model, options and all the details of the exact car you want. Take time to visualize having achieved what you desire. How do you feel now that you have achieved your goal? Get emotionally involved with the result.

M - MEASURABLE: Identify your marker-how will you know you are moving in the right direction? Your goal must be measurable. Saying "I want to be out of debt" definitely isn't going to get you the results you want. Saying, "I will earn $50K by a specific date" is far more positive. The result, of course, will be that you are out of debt as well.

A - ATTAINABLE: You must believe that you are able to achieve your goal. It may seem somewhat unrealistic to you now, but it shouldn't seem insurmountable.

R - RELEVANT: Your goal should be something you are passionate about-you should be emotionally involved with your goal. If you are married or have a partner, each person should have his or her own goals - ones that are personal to you that you desire to achieve.

T - TIMELY: Your goals should have an expected date of completion. This is usually an educated guess. Keep in mind that work expands to fill the time allowed for it!

There you go ...... so start today, it is NEVER too late to start a goal. Start with something small to begin with and then congratulate yourself when you accomplish your goal and immediately set another.
