The quirky and insecure Gae In (Son Ye Jin) lives alone in her father's famous "Old World" -- an architectural tribute to old Korea and Gae In's late mother. After breaking up with her boyfriend Chang Ryul (Kim Ji Suk) to one of her closest friends In Hee (Wang Ji Hye) lead her not to trust both men and women. Jin Ho (Lee Min Ho), a blossoming architect and straight guy who is mistakenly regarded as being gay ends up living with Gae In after deceiving her because he is greedy about work.

As the relationship between the two develop from one between a past lover and a close friend to rivals at work and rivals of love, "Personal Preference" becomes a drama which is not just about romance with a man pretending to be gay but rather shows the development of the interpersonal relationships among the characters.

How will Gae In react when she finds out that her gay roommate is not actually gay at all and that he has fallen for her? Their friendship deepens and grows to love in this tender romantic comedy.

Jeon Ji Ho: A starting architect, is a straight guy who pretends to be gay in order to become a roommate to his Park Kae In.

Yoon Eun Soo: Jeon Ji Ho's past love in college that he broke up with no definite reason in his part.

Lee Young Sun: Gae In's best friend who first got to know that her ex-boyfriend Chang Ryul and In Hee are getting married.
