E. Ozwald Balfour is a native of the island of Trinidad in the Caribbean. From an early age he was exposed to the rich cosmopolitan cultures of the Caribbean region. After graduating from high school Ozwald joined the La Tropical Dance Company. In 1973 he was selected to be the lead performer on a tour to Surinam, South America. For the next two years Ozwald danced his way throughout the Caribbean performing on cruise ships and resorts. Before migrating to the United States in 1975 he was an entertainer and member of the Cruise Staff aboard the Carnival Cruise Line.Ozwald first settled in Pensacola, Florida where he made a transition from on stage to behind the scenes. He co-wrote a Federal grant and founded the After-school Community Theatre (ACT). This project was responsible for introducing many young people to careers in performing arts. From his base in Pensacola he traveled to Los Angeles and New York City to advance his career. He had the opportunity to meet and be influenced by people like Sammy Davis jr., Sidney Portier, Lou Gousett and many others. In 1977 Ozwald moved to New York and worked as an acting instructor with the Brownsville Community Theatre in Brooklyn. During the next few years he developed an interest in broadcasting. In 1979 he returned to Trinidad and landed a job as Radio/TV Producer with Longsdale Advertising Agency, one of the largest Ad agencies in the Caribbean. He was responsible for discovering and developing new talent.

Ozwald first came to Utah in 1981 to pursue educational opportunities and stayed active in several college and community organizations. He founded the Ethnic Talent Bank, a casting/production organization and produced many cultural and entertainment events. Ozwald worked in the news department at KTVX (ABC) Television as a video news editor. In 1984 Ozwald graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in International Communications. Since 1985 Ozwald has worked as a media professional and has produced a wide variety of broadcast, educational, government, corporate and entertainment productions. He lived in Atlanta, Georgia for eight years where he worked extensively with major artists as well as new comers in the entertainment industry. In 1988 he became executive producer of KIDS' TALK, the television magazine show produced by kids for the entire family.

Ozwald is President/CEO of OMNI Production, a business specializing in Audio Visual Services, Media Production and Entertainment/Special Event Production. He is a member of the Salt Lake Chamber, Utah Supplier Development Council and Utah Minority Entrepreneurs Group. Ozwald played a leading role in a variety of projects leading up to and during the 2002 Winter Olympics. He recruited 30 television production crew-members who worked at various competition venues for Big Screen Network. Ozwald has a passion for teaching/mentoring and enjoys working with others to accomplish individual and collective success.
