My Review of Pet Ghosts
In Pet Ghosts: Animal Encounters from Beyond the Grave, Joshua Warren coins the term phantimals to describe the paranormal creatures which appear more animal-like than human-like.
No one truly understands how, or why, ghosts manifest, but Warren hazards an explanation for animal apparitions.

Inside are anecdotes of phantimals (including some manifesting pterdactyls) and more theories to explain them.
There is advice on contacting your own lost pets, some simple tools and techniques to help find the spirit of these deceased pets, and how to record them.

Pet Ghosts
“Animals are like cameras that can capture experiences beyond us”
When they are alive to us that range includes the part of the spectrum we call physical. When they die they shift frequencies slightly, shedding that particular layer we experience physically, like a coat, but still existing to some degree at a different level.

We were very close to our cat Trill and we deeply saddened when she passed on. One night my husband and I were in bed and we heard a very loud, rumbling purr like from a big cat. I think she always saw herself as a panther, and has kept a watch on us ever since.

- As I said above, still not sure what I think about ghosts, except that every now and then, just as I'm drifting off to sleep I could swear a cat jumps up on my bed and walks up to my face. I have two cats who have passed and I think it's one of them. Or my memory of them that somehow gets triggered as I'm going to sleep.
