Create a Pet
After adding the application on Facebook, you are taken to a screen which allows you to design your pet by choosing the gender, name, color, shape, and facial features. Don't worry over this too much if you have a hard time deciding. You can always go back and change it later. When you are finished creating your pet, you will be taken to your pet's new home, which is very small and barren to begin with. You will be given a general walkthrough, teaching you how to navigate the game.
General Layout
In the top, left corner there is a coin icon with a number next to it. This represents the amount of money you currently have in the game. Coins can be gained through playing games, gaining trophies, winning in the stadium, and even running through trees.Next to that are your Paw Points. Paw points are experience points that you gain by doing different activities in the game. As you gain more Paw Points, the bar will fill up. When it is full, you get a reward. Typically this is an upgrade to one of your main items (soap, brush, ball, jump rope. frisbee). Other times, it will be an upgrade to your house, giving you more rooms to play with.
In the right corner, you have four small icons (Save & Quit, Toggle Quality, Toggle Music, Toggle Sound). They each do exactly what they say. If your computer is a little slow, you may want to use the Toggle Quality icon to make the game run a little better for you.
Right below the icons is the image of a house. When you first start the game, it should only have one white box. As you progress in the game and gain more rooms, it will add boxes to the house icon which when clicked will take you to a different room in your house.
Alongside the right side of the screen, you will see three bars: red, green, and blue. Red represents health and is filled by feeding your pet food. Green represents happiness and can be filled by petting, brushing, or playing games with your pet. Blue represents hygiene and can only be filled by using soap on the pet. There are bathtubs within the game, but as of this moment, they don't do anything for your pet's hygiene. Make sure you keep these bars filled by checking on your pet every day. Going without feeding your pet will make him/her slow and sluggish. Going without bathing your pet will attract flies and you may log in to find a nice, wiggly pile of poo on your floor.
There are five icons in the bottom, left corner of the screen. The door allows you to exit the pet's house, the shirt brings up the pet's wardrobe (change outfit), the chest brings up your items, the trophy icon brings up a list of trophies (showing both trophies you have won, and those that you haven't yet), and finally the shortcuts icon which brings up a thumbnail view of all the different places your pet can go.
If you open the chest on the change outfit icon, two more icons come up. The Sell icon and the Gift icon. By dragging an item or piece of clothing to either of those icons you can either sell it, or gift it to one of your fellow pet buddies.
Chest
The chest contains all of your usable items (except for clothing) and furniture. Mini Games
There are three mini games that you can play with your pet that earn you coins and experience points. They are simple in concept, but not always easy.Ball
Drag the ball icon to your pet. When he/she throws it, you click it to hit it back. Simple right? Except your pet hits the ball so that it goes faster after every time you manage to hit it back. You get one coin every time you hit the ball back five times in a row.
Jump Rope
Drag the jump rope to your pet. When you are ready, click him/her to jump. When you see the jump rope turn red, that is the time to click. You'll be better if you can learn to anticipate it a little bit. You get one coin after every five jumps. I've found that of the three mini games, this is the easiest one for me to to make money on.
Frisbee
Drag the frisbee to your pet. When he throws the frisbee, click on it to send it back. This is definitely the most difficult of the three games. If it passes you, don't give up right away. There is a chance that it could come back to you after hitting a wall. As with the others, you get one coin after throwing the frisbee back five times in a row.
Paws & Claws
Pet Games
The Stadium
This is where you have the most potential to make coins and paw points every day. When you first enter the stadium, you have three options: Race, Practice, and Bet. If you have never raced before, it is always a good idea to start by practicing. It is a simple game. You choose who you want to race against and enter the stadium. As you run the race, you want to click on your pet whenever he/she needs to jump over a hurdle. Click on bananas to get them out of the way so that your pet doesn't slip on them. Sometimes this will give you an extra coin. Careful though, don't click the bananas on your opponents' lanes. You want to slow them down. If for some reason you can't click the banana in time, click on your pet so that he/she will jump over it.
Once you have practiced some and feel comfortable racing, do a real race. The reward for winning is 30 coins and 20 Paw Points. You get 10 Paw Points for second place, and 5 for third. It is important to note that you can only run ten real races a day, so at most you can make 300 coins by winning. Although, you can gain more Paw Points by running the practice races.
Betting is simpler, although you aren't as likely to win this way. Place a bet on the pet that you expect to win, and if he/she does, the amount you bet will be doubled and added back into your coins.
Shopping
Your pet can go to a variety of stores. There is a Furniture Store, a Luxury Item Store, and a D.I.Y. Store. Within these, you will find a variety of items from couches to refrigerators, from wallpaper to shelves, and lava lamps to jukeboxes. Spend some time looking around and spend your coins wisely. The stores are updated with new items every week. Sometimes the mystery boxes have really cool items that aren't available in the stores...other times they are lame and not worth the money spent on them, but sometimes if you can't make a choice, they are a really fun way to go.
Shops
Clothing Store
Buy a variety of clothes from clothing store. When you buy the clothing items, they are automatically placed in your wardrobe (look under the change outfit icon). To change your pet's clothes, go home and pull up your wardrobe. Drag and drop the clothes onto your pet. Food Store
Shop for food for your pet.Hint: Buy cheaper food items. The cost of the item doesn't make it more or less fulfilling. It is all the same, so if you want to save money, go with the cheaper items like apples and pears.
Feeding Your Pet
So you have bought food and your pet in hungry. Now what? Easy! Just drag your food from your chest onto the floor. Your pet will pick it up and eat it. He/She will not eat if he/she isn't hungry.
Outside My Pet's House
Visiting Other Pets
There is an entire neighborhood of other pets that you can visit. Any of your Facebook friends that play Pet Society will have a house that shows up in your neighborhood. To go visit one of them, leave your house and click on the pet's house that you want to visit. You can explore all of their rooms while you are there and maybe get some cool ideas for your own pet's home. What? An empty neighborhood? This can easily be remedied. Just click on one of the empty plots and invite some of your friends. When they sign up, they will be added to your neighborhood.
For every friend you visit, you get five Paw Points and 20 coins, so having a lot of friends that play is a good way to be able to afford some of those items your pet is dying to have from the Luxury Item Store.
Decorating Your Pet's House

So, you know the basics and now you want to decorate because your house is feeling a little empty? What do you do?
Go shopping. If you don't have money to go shopping, try playing some of those games or visiting friends to make a few extra coins.
Once you have a few items in your inventory (chest), go back to your house and into the room you wish to decorate. Drag and drop furniture and other items to place them where you want.
Dragging and dropping things like wallpaper and flooring will automatically cover the entire wall or floor. Make sure that is the room you want to use that wallpaper in through, because you can't take it down once you have put it up unless you have something to replace it with. The same goes for flooring.
Feel free to rearrange doors and windows as well. They are just as movable as any other piece of furniture.

My Pet's Kitchen
Cafe
The cafe is one of the more unique locations that your pet can visit. Inside, not only will you find items to buy, but you will find other pets that are not in your neighborhood sitting at little tables. By clicking on them, you can go and visit their homes.A new icon appears on your screen when you enter the cafe. It is a box either with or without a check mark. If you choose to, you can allow other pets to visit your pet's home while you are offline. Your pet will appear in the cafe for other users to see.
Trophies
You get trophies when you and your pet fulfill certain goals. Each trophy comes in bronze, silver and gold. You get coins for every trophy you receive. Buy a shelve or two so you can display your achievements to the other pets that come to visit. Here is a list of all the possible trophies you can receive:
