People at the Movie Theater

Biggest Pet Peeve of the Moment

My absolute biggest pet peeve right now is people at the movies! I can't understand when going to the movies became unpleasant, I'd imagine around the same time that every 5 year old and his brother starting getting cell phones. In all fairness I can't blame just the kids because they are usually better behaved than the adults. Ok first off why do people use their phones during the movie when you know you're supposed to turn it off. You're telling me people can't shut off their cellphones for 2 hours? The phones don't need to be on unless it's a life or death emergency, in which case you shouldn't be at the movies in the first place! It's not even just the light from the cellphone that's distracting, some people have the audacity to answer their phones during the movie!

Second problem is the talking during the movie and I don't just mean a comment here and there that's no problem but consistently throughout the whole film is not on.

Listen to this situation about a month ago I went to go see Wall-E this couple next to me must of been idiots or eaten lead paint chips when they were little because the boyfriend was explaining every obvious thing to the girlfriend. For example when wall-e and eve are holding hands and looking at each other he explains "oh that's googly eyes they're making at each other they must be in love." You think?!?! also when wall-e powers up it makes the same sound as an Apple Mac upon start up, the genius sitting next to me explains "oh that's the sound Microsoft Windows makes when it starts up." First off not only is this guy talking aimlessly throughout the movie, but he doesn't even have the correct info to tell the girlfriend! Steve Jobs created Apple and is the CEO of Pixar why in the world would they use a Microsoft sound? But I digress..

I just love all those commercials in the trailers of films urging people not to buy or download knock off copies of films, but the way things are going I can see why people do it more and more. Who wants to waste £15 or $20 going to the movies when they can't even enjoy it, at least at home there's no one there to bother you.

Cellphone Music

No More Clubmusic Please!

I've noticed the recent trend are people buying cellphones that you can store and play MP3's on, which I think the concept is great integrating everything into one gadget. Here's where the pet peeve comes in it seems that people who have the worst possible taste in music feel like there is no need for headphones. This at it's worst on public transport because in the first place if it's a long journey there's nowhere to go, although sometimes jumping out the window doesn't seem like such a bad idea. So the worst possible music which will either be chipmunk dance music or Nickleback cranked up to the loudest setting. Why do people feel the need to blast their crappy music and share it with everyone?

Cellphones again

This is getting to be a bit of a trend here with the cellphones, but honestly I have no problem with cellphones when used in the correct manner. This pet peeve is about people who have awkward/intimate conversations on their cellphone in public places in a very loud tone of voice. No one wants to know every detail of a stranger's life. Here's a great example I was in a card shop looking for a birthday card when this lady comes in jabbering away on her cellphone. While she looked for a card in the store and went up to the counter to pay the gist of her conversation was how she thought she had a yeast infection, I mean come on! Everyone in the store had that lovely image in their heads for the rest of the day.

Heaphones and MP3 capable phones

The perfect accessory for those mentioned in the previous modules, keep that music to yourself.

People that take up the whole sidewalk

People that take up the whole sidewalk and don't let anyone pass is bad enough but what about when they're also walking so slow that they'll soon be walking backwards! I hate when there is a small stretch of sidewalk and people, especially couples holding hands, can't break off and walk single file instead they'd rather force me to walk in the street. I mean really you can't let go of someone's hand for 2 seconds you're that afraid they'll run away?

You probably are driving the speed limit in the fast lane which is ridiculous! First and foremost, you need to keep up with the pace of traffic or drive in the far right lane, That's obeying the law, A$$!!

I hate it when people tailgate me because I'm driving the speed limit. That happened to me today, and it was so annoying. Forgive me for actually obeying the law.
