Cats Mating

Have you ever wondered what cats mating got to do with your garden? This is a guide to what could happen and how to avoid spending large sums of money to fix the problem.

If it's this time of year when your cat, Gerty, is in heat, the minute you open the door she may appear out of nowhere and shoot out the door like a bullet. First, if it's not already evident to you, you'll find that every feral cat, neighborhood feline, and even cats from all over town have been anxiously awaiting her "Queenship's" royal exit from your home.In all likelihood, the male felines have been in that area for many days.. You take a look at your garden and you'll probably see burn spots from their urine and feces. You know cats like to pee or poop in almost the same place each time.

Here's what you now have - a pregnant cat in you hands and a ruined garden. You can be looking at a major expense getting your lawn back into pristine condition. It's not bound to happen, but with so many cats taking over one neighborhood, the real estate value of yours and your neighbors' homes could be adversely affected if those cats choose to stick around for a while. Well thanks for the added problem. You say. What is the answer to this problem? You ask.

The most obvious and perhaps the cheapest way would be to get rid of Gert. Before they rehome the pet that they love so much, the majority of cat lovers would prefer to give up their husband instead. And you fall in that condition, don't you? So here's some options.

You might want to think about getting her spayed. Spaying also called neutering as the female counterpart of castration. If you are against spaying your beautiful Gert, check with her vet about going on chemical birth control. The vet will know what can be done and if - chemical birth control will work for her. Your vet may also suggest having her tubes tied as another alternative to spaying.

There is one last thought you need to think about before you go get Gert fixed. If you don't you are going to have a houseful of kittens. Yes, they are pretty and easy to get attached to. But, you talk about another expense. It is more than just the food, it is also the possible damage to the home and more money to be spent on veteranian bills.

Unfortunately, the majority of humane societies and other pet organizations won't take them off your hand unless you pay for them being fixed. It's also beyond thinking to leave them somewhere in the hope that some kind soul would take pity on them. The cheapest and easiest way out of this would have been if you had had Gert fixed to start off with.

But since you did not request a substantial savings plan from your vet or local pet clinic for the price of having all the kittens fixed at the same time. You will have contributed to the well being of the new kittens and you can feel good about helping the pet population. Oh yes! There is one thing you can do and that is to slap Gert's boyfriend, Roscoe, with a paternity suit.

Cats mating should be the least of your problems in today's complicated world, but since you love Gert it is part of your complicated world. Getting her spayed remains one of the less expensive and safest ways to make up for what is lost by cats mating.

By the way, you should know that Roscoe was very happy when he left your home..
