So what is Internet marketing?

Internet marketing comes in different varieties, some of them subtle and, others brash even annoying. You've probably been surrounded by it for the majority of your online life, but only now, do you want to put a name to it, to analyze it, and, most probably, learn this dark art for your-self.

If you, like me, belong to a certain age-group, or younger, then your first experiences with the Internet were probably innocent and pleasure driven. Email, instant messaging, social networks, gaming, music, and film. Then you realized the educational potential.

But now you notice that the "dot.coms" are often in the news alongside the soaring unemployment figures and talk of the recession. Maybe you are unemployed your-self, the victim of company-wide lay-offs, or you have yet to find a job after leaving school or university,( there seem to be fewer and fewer around these days, with more and more people competing for them.) Perhaps you are already successful in the "off-line" world, and curious, or perhaps more than that; hungry. Hungry to get a piece of the "on-line" wealth up for grabs.

What-ever your situation, you are now looking at the Internet from a different perspective. Where you once saw information and recreation you now see a business or maybe an employment opportunity.

It's an attractive proposition for many of us. The idea of being able to work from home or maybe from a lap-top in a coffee-house, or even a beach-cafe somewhere hot and sunny, the surf pounding the golden sandy beaches....

So where do you start? Maybe you start searching for work-online opportunities or business opportunities or maybe you just start digitizing the work or business you are already involved in. The chances are though that at some point you will stumble across some get-rich quick scheme or some Internet Guru who want's to show you how "You too could earn $4,730.63 in a day!"

Eventually though, maybe after paying some of these shysters the last of your savings to let you in at ground-level on some pyramid sales scheme, (nothing at-all wrong with these if you are at the top of the pyramid!) you come to the conclusion that what you really need to do is learn Internet Marketing.

So then. Off to night-school? Back to college? You can do that if you want but the great thing about Internet Marketing is that successful Internet marketers love nothing more than teaching "newbies" the likes of you and me just how it's done. Who better to learn this new skill-set from than some-one who is already doing it professionally?

And there are no shortage of "Teachers".

So what are you waiting for? Just Google Internet Marketing training (or similar) and make a start. There is plenty of free information out there to start you off, but once you have a got a genuine taste for it I recommend you enroll on a fee-paying program, like the Six Figure Mentors because the tools and software you need to get started are included in the membership, (along with the training) and you immediately have something to sell. It also helps to keep you focused- the Internet is a great place to get information overload!
