It's Oil but not as We Know It
Fossil fuels are a finite commodity. We all know it and yet crude oil is still the standard basis for what makes transport possible the world over. Nevertheless, over the past few years alternatives have been given much attention due to climate change, pollution, rising oil prices, the need for agriculture to diversify, and other issues.
This lens will bring together the intricacies of bio diesel, i.e. the pros and cons, current thinking, ways to make bio diesel yourself, news, events and resources.
So come back regularly and see the updates.

Bio Diesel on the Water
Earthrace - Around the World on Bio Diesel
Earthrace is a futuristic power trimaran, designed by Craig Loomes Yacht Design in New Zealand. It was conceived and built in order to promote bio diesel around the world. To this effect its creators embarked upon a world record attempt for power boats. Unfortunately, the race had to be abandoned
because of severe damage to the hull in the Mediterranean.
However, after repairs Earthrace is now on its ambitious European tour. The schedule is:
December 3-6 Barcelona, Spain
December 7-9 Sete, France
December 10-12 Marseille, France
December 13-16 St Tropez, France
December 17-19 Cannes, Frances
December 20-23 Antibes, France
December 24-26 Nice, France
December 27-30 Villefranche/Cap Ferrat, France
December 31 - Jan 2 Monte Carlo, Monaco
January 3-6 Genoa, Italy
From 17 January Valencia, Spain (refit and sea trials)
March 1 Valencia, Race Start
