Even though I like Burl Ives' voice better (personal preference), I must say you've done a bang up job with this lense. I'm lensrolling it to and featuring it on my brand new lense: The Almanac Singers and also to my old lense: American Folk Music, Past, Present and Future.

Great lense--very complete--a great picture of a great man. The only thing you left out was that he founded the Weavers. But your purpose was to show how he promoted peace and I think you accomplished that masterfully. I gave you a 5.

Oh, Shelly, That is one of my favorite songs as well. Pete Seeger has helped me believe through all these years that peace will come someday through songs.

Tipi and I grew up hearing Mom play Pete Seeger Albums and watching him on T.V., it wasn't until recently I learned, I think on American Masters that he had been bannished from many sectors to singing with children--guess the powers that were didn't realize that children are the most important audience! My favorite has always been....Last night I had the strangest dream, I've ever dreamed before. I dreamed the world had all agreed to put an end to war. I dreamed I saw a mighty room, the room was filled with men and the paper they were signing said, they'd never fight again.......and the people in the streets below were dancing round and round...and guns and swords and uniforms were scattered on the ground.
