Smell that putrid Odor, but can't see it?

Get pet odor/stain cleanerSometimes pet odors are hard to find, because you can't see them. Well, wait until it's dark outside, turn out the lights, and get yourself a battery-powered black light. All of your pet odor sources will glow under black light, so take your light to the smelly area and have a look around. You can use tape, string or chalk to circle the soiled area, so when you turn on the lights, you'll know exactly where you have to clean.

The next step is to clean the area with a biological enzyme-based product. View the list below of great products that I recommend for the job.

Even with the best removal methods, getting rid of old pet stains and odors can be difficult, especially if they've been there a while. The longer it sits, the harder it is to remove. You may need to apply the remover several times before the odor and/or stain is completely eliminated.

For cleaning carpet, I recommend injecting the cleaner through the carpet and into the pad using a syringe or carpet injector. Cover the carpet with plastic wrap so it stays wet longer, because enzyme cleaners lose effectiveness as they dry.

After cleaning, let dry, and be sure to go over the area with your black light to make sure the odor source is totally eliminated. If it still glows, it needs more cleaning.
