Members of the Family
People get pets for a variety of reasons. Some want companionship, others want a play pal for their child, yet others just enjoy having pets around! More often than not, however, once that little critter gets into your house, he also gets into your heart!
Ever since the days when animals first became domesticated, they have been an important part of the society and the family. Most know that Cats were revered in ancient Egypt, and often even buried with their Masters. Pigs were even bred to a size where they can be kept as pets, hence, the Potbelly Pig. Sadly, however, some animals began to be bred for selfish reasons, such as dog fighting. Most news stories about dogs these days, unfortunately, are about Pitt Bulls, and other dogs bred for the specific purpose of fighting. However, I know several people who keep these dogs as pets and family members, not fighters.
For everyone who has had, or has a pet that is a member of their family, read on! I'll introduce you to some incredible animals and people!
Is your Pet Royalty?
My dog is a Prince
Technically, mine is. He is dubbed (the english version) Prince Henry Dumaas. But he's still just Papi. Like we sometimes do for our children, sometimes we go a little overboard with our pets. Everyone has their own idea of what limits they set with their furry friends. My dog is allowed to sleep in my bed. He is allowed on furniture. He basically has fewer rules than my Children or Grand Children. You may wonder why. It is because my Dog shows me more love and respect than they do!! Okay, maybe that doesn't apply to my Grand babies, but it does to my Kids!Everywhere you look, you will now see Doggy Daycares, spa's, even Lounges for pets. Some laugh at such a concept, but some of us know that we get an unconditional love from our pets that is unmatched. Only the best for them!
Even Web communities and pages are dedicated to our beloved animals. I belong to You pet, where you can join for free and even set up a webpage for your pet!
Create a Free Webpage for your pet!
You can set "play dates" for your fur baby, and hire dog sitters/cat sitters. You can send your bundle of love to a spa.
Show us the love!

Caring for your Pet and Spoiling your Pet
They are, after all, family
Over the course of your beloved companion's life, they will need medicine. Your Vet can provide this, or if you want to save money, there are online ordering alternatives. One I use is
Discount Pet Meds at Petscriptions
The more I save on prescriptions, the more I can buy to spoil him! And yes, I also have insurance for my pets. I never used to, until Callie needed an emergency C-Section which set me back to the tune of $1500! Just like your other family members, insurance for your pet is a good idea.

Where to shop for your pet.
A VERY fun place to shop is Jake's Dog House. There is much more than dog houses there! Everything for the well outfitted dog, to figurines, cat boxes and trees and much, much more. I have never gone to Jake's and NOT found something I (Papi) had to have!
One final place that I absolutely LOVE is Happy Tails. It's for the Pampered dog!

If it is only the BEST for your pet, this is the place for you!
Shout out for your Pet!!

- Nice lens and a nice thought. Yes, other animals (we are all animals) have feelings and in their own ways they are people too! 5*!

- I have had dogs that have been very much part of the family, but I can't understand the trend of having these little dogs that people carry around or puch around in a stroller like a baby. 5***** for a nice lens.

- People without pets don't understand, but living with them you find that they really aren't much different than people, just furry and less verbally communicative.
