It is vital to treat the Mange quickly, not only to relieve your pet from the itching but because it can escalate into other skin problems for your pets.

Where Did my Pet get Mange from ?, How Contagious is it ?
Your questions answered.....
Mange can also be transmitted from the Mother at birth.
Not all types of Pet Mange are as contagious as others. However, until your pet has been treated for the Mange it is important that they are kept away from other animals to prevent it spreading.
Can my Pet Give me Scabies ?
No, but er yes....
This is going to be a double ended answer because you can't become infested with Scabies from a pet who is suffering with Mange. However, this is not to say that the mites will not transfer onto humans but they are not able to live on humans so after a couple of days they will die. During that couple of days though you could experience scabies like symptoms, including itching and being generally uncomfortable. You will not need to treat yourself for scabies. When your pet's mange is gone then your itches will also dissappear.

The thing that makes your pets scabies worse is that they have to rely on their owner to treat them.
