Pet Training Tricks

One of the hardest things I've ever had to do as a pet owner has been to get my pets to be obedient let alone train them any type of pet tricks. With six dogs and three cats and tons of animals constantly being dropped off at my rural location as strays I was desperate to figure out a way for them to just listen to me. It was total chaos and madness. It had even gotten to a point where my husband threatened to leave if I brought one more animal into my home. It wasn't until I started watching the "Dog Whisperer" television series that I finally figured out what it was that I was doing incorrectly. I had to learn to speak their language and get them to listen to me. That is the biggest pet trick because they seem to have selective hearing.

Animals have their own language and if you don't learn how to speak it then they of course are not going to be very good listeners. As with any species you have to talk the talk in order to be heard. That was lesson number one from the "Dog Whisperer". In spite of what many people say animals do have feelings and they can be hurt by a rough voice or rough action or can be happy just to get a pat on the head. Just do a search on the internet where you will find countless stories of animals mourning the loss of their owners, or animals that have rescued humans, watch how your pet reacts to you yelling at them for their misbehavior etc. I could go on and on about that but I won't. This is more about Pet Training and how to do it yourself without having to hire someone for thousands of dollars to do it for you or spend an enormous amount of money on pet training products.

So the first thing is learning to talk to them. As any pet trainer will tell you the best way to learn how to speak to animals is by observing them. Watch your pet to see how they react to certain things. Do they react differently to you when you speak in a different tone? Do they watch your body language? How do they react to you when you go to the food pantry? These are some of the questions to ask yourself as you begin your pets training. It's the first step in understanding how you will get them to better understand you. Another words you may need to change your tone of voice, change your body language etc in order to start "speaking" to your pet. The tone in your voice will be your biggest praise and correction methods as you start training them. Animals in general hear tones more than they do words so when they hear a good tone and see a good body reaction they are more apt to do whatever it is they did the first time to get that reaction from you in order to hear and see it again. Pets are like kids and need positive reinforcement from you in order to get good behavior from them. Anytime they get no attention other than when they are being naughty and you are forced to correct them they are getting negative attention but attention all the same so they learn that being naughty gets them the attention that they crave. You are going to have to first start making changes in your behavior towards your pet before you can start the Pet Trick Training part of this article but start with the suggestions I've mentioned here and see how right I am.

The Deer and Rabbit have several photos that show them as being the best of friends and according to the woman's story she never saw one without the other. So yes folks Bambi and Thumper really do exist.
