Reader's Review:
This book was well laid out and an easy and interesting read. It covers all the main diving areas throughout the Philippines. It gives a brief description of the terrain, difficulty, what you will see and the general conditions you will experience on diving to each location. It also gives tips on traveling to each location, though this could be a little more thorough, due to the difficulty of getting to each site. This book is great if you are planning a dive trip and have no idea which areas to head to. It allowed me to pick certain areas and islands to research further on the internet. It will be a great resource to take to each dive shop when deciding which dives to participate in. - D. Webb "Spidey"

Boracay Island
With 7,107 islands, and a coastline twice the length of that of the United States, the Philippines can claim to be Asia's Beach Capital. Enjoy the warm crystal blue waters of both the China Sea and the Pacific Ocean. Mention the Philippines and images of long, white sand beaches and bodies of water blessed with a variety of marine life come to mind.
Boracay Island, with its sugary white sand beaches and azure blue waters, is located on the northwestern tip of Panay, Western Visayas. The best of the island is the 4 km. White Beach, touted as the "finest beach in the world." The water surrounding the island is shallow and the sand is finer and brighter than most beaches in the archipelago.

Did you know that the World's Most Smallest Primate is found in the Philippines?
The Philippine TarsierIt has a gray fur and a nearly naked tail. It can be found in the islands of Samar, Leyte, Bohol, and Mindanao in the Philippines.
The middle finger is elongated. Head and body length are around 118-149 mm; It weighs 113-142 grams. Males are larger than females. In comparison with his body size, the eyes of the tarsier are enormous. In volume, the capacity of the bony eye orbits, or eye sockets, is larger than that of the brain case, and also larger than its stomach. Their eye sockets have post-orbital closure rather than the postorbital bar of the prosimians. This feature keeps the eyeballs from being pressed against by the powerful temporal muscles to their sides.

- The Philippine tarsier, (Tarsius syrichta) is very peculiar small animal. In fact it is one of the smallest known primates, no larger than a adult men's hand. Mostly active at night, it lives on a diet of insects. Folk traditions sometimes has it that tarsiers eat charcoal, but actually they retrieve the insects from (sometimes burned) wood. It can be found in the islands of Samar, Leyte, Bohol, and Mindanao in the Philippines.

Your country is one which I have long wished to visit. I have quite a few Phililpino friends back home in the Los Angeles area and they are a warm and kind hearted people. I love the food as well and I have had the chance to eat a lot of it since there are many Philipino restaurants out my way also. I love Adobo chicken and , I don't rememeber what they are called, but those little red sweet sausages. I'm not that big on the chocolate or peanut sauces, but that's okay because I eat just about everything else. Really well done and 5 stars to you. Salamat Po and Patnu Bayan Kanang Dios!
