Phil Ochs bared his soul in his songs
Phil was never one to say anything half way.
He sang of love and he sang about America in the sixties and seventies, but he would be overshadowed by Dylan during his lifetime and, like the lessons of the Vietnam war, he is largely unremembered today, but, like those lessons, his songs still stand up today in their relevance, plus they are filled with beauty and no small measure of humor.
Give him a listen. Then give him another. Then give a friend a gift of Phil Ochs.

- "Oh, welcome to California," 1960s protest singer Phil Ochs wrote of the process in his 1960s song "Bracero," describing a place "where the friendly farmers will take care of you, and the sun will bite your body as the dust will draw you thirsty, ...
- Have no fear, the Vancouver jazz festival is inclusive
- A folkie in the sixties, my musical taste had slowly graduated from Gordon Lightfoot, Phil Ochs, Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell and Bob Dylan to Hendrix, Clapton, Morrison (Jim and Van), Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and Jefferson Airplane.
- Dillard & Clark: Celebrating an unsung LA country rock classic
- The album was produced by Larry Marks, whose work with everyone from Phil Ochs to the Flying Burrito Brothers and Emitt Rhodes remains some of the most vital of the era. All those links are rendered meaningless within the opening groove of the first ...
