Phipps Conservatory in Christmas time 2010
To escape the holiday hustle and bustle in cold, windy and snowy Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, I decided to spend a soothing Monday morning with plants. I figured that the best place to visit would be the Phipps Conservatory in Schenley Park, right across from Carnegie Melon University and Carnegie Museums in downtown Pittsburgh.
Year round Phipps Conservatory offers seventeen distinct botanical experiences and awakens one's senses by displaying somewhat secret life of plants from around the world to their visitors.
Phipps Conservatory claims to be one of the world's greenest public gardens. Sparkling and festive during the winter holiday season, I checked it out myself! Hope you enjoy a short tour of Winter Flower Show no matter where you live!

About Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens
Located in the center of Oakland's cultural attractions, Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens consists of several buildings and grounds adjacent to Schenley Park and very close to the Carnegie Museums in Pittsburgh's East End neighborhood of Oakland.
Access to Schenley Park and Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens is via Schenley Drive. Just look for the big Victorian glasshouse, directly across from Flagstaff Hill.
Free parking is available to Phipps guests in the center island on Schenley Drive.
