For Giant Squids only!

Here by popular demand, another live phone call interview with Seth Godin and Megan Casey, straight from Squidoo HQ!

They're going to hop on the phone with Giant Squid Organizer and volunteer community representative Bonnie, aka BDKZ (that's me) and answer the top 10 questions you ask them.

When is the call? Thursday June 4th at 12 noon EST

Who? Giants and 100 Club Giants are all welcome. But we only have room for 60 people, so make sure to RSVP and don't dally (or dilly).

More details below.

or, in a nutshell

How it works

Here's how you can participate.

1. Right now: Giants, post your best, biggest, brightest, most productive, most curious questions for Seth and Megan, below. Or vote on existing questions you really want answered.

2. Next: Quick! RSVP for the call. Send an e-mail to Giant Squid Organizer Patti at patti@squidoo.com Deadline to RSVP is June 2nd at the end of the day.

3. Then: If you're one of the first 60 Giants to RSVP, we will email you the phone number for the call and the Campfire chat link a few days before the call happens. (See below for how that works).

4. The big day: During the event itself on Thursday June 4th at 12 noon EST!, I'll be interviewing Seth and Megan live on the phone and asking them the top 10 questions from the list below. So make sure you ask good questions and vote on ones you really want answered. We won't edit the list or shy away from anything hard, so have at it.

5. During the call: While Seth and Megan and I are talking, you can chat (type chat, that is) in a Campfire chatroom that we'll set up for the call. I'll keep an eye on it, and after the 10 questions are up if there's still time, I'll ask some of your followup questions or a few new questions that you posted in the chat.

That's it!

Post your questions here.

Bonnie will ask Megan and Seth the top 10 voted questions from this list

3 tips for asking questions

1. Please sign your name (or Squidoo username) after it! If you don't we might delete it. Anonymity is no one's friend.

2. We can handle questions of all stripes. Don't be shy about asking and we won't be shy about answering honestly. But trollish questions or comments will get removed, or worse, actually answered on the call. Which means you'll have used up everyone's time for it.

3. Take advantage of access to people who care just as much as you do about the success of your lenses. If you want more visitors to your lenses (and who doesn't) you might ask about promotion strategies, viral marketing, ways to share and lead a tribe, how to get traffic and happy readers and give back. Technical questions like: "why is this module broken" are better for bug reports. Megan and Seth aren't as smart about that stuff as the engineers. :)

Thanks!

Why not create more mini forums?

The Rocket Moms program is terrific and a great forum within a forum for all kinds of lensmasters with a lot in common. Are more of these mini-forums in the works? Or other community within a community ideas? BTW, Bonnie does an amazing job running the Rocket Moms group.4 points

What's the biggest mistake you see lensmasters making?

Many of us have been at this lensmaking thing a while. Do you see any pattern emerging that you think is a mistake, even from seasoned lensmasters?

What can we do for Squidoo?

Squidoo does so much for us - giving us a platform to express ourselves, advertise, and share, as well as earn money. So what can we do for Squidoo, to help the business and make this a better site? LindaJM3 points

More Ways To Earn

Is it conceivable that we will get more (different) ways to earn than the ever harder to achieve slice of revenue share and our own affiliate links? Some way that is not just based on lensrank but perhaps on community involvement, quality (not quantity) contribution, etc.? --Thanks, Squidster3 points

What's the alternative to live phone calls?

As somebody who does not live in the USA I never bother signing up for the live phone calls (due to the expense). Can you find a way of involving people who don't live in the USA without using phone calls?1 point
