Hand on is very important in my opinion. Learning something from a seminar is fine, but putting it into action is what is the hard part. And that is when you need the teacher there to help with the glitches.

Being able to do a short seminar followed by hands on learning would be great! I wish we had something like that around here. I have a $500 camera that I know very little about. I can zoom in and zoom out, take the picture and view them....There is a lot I have to learn!

My favorite ah ha moment was when you said you took over a thousand pictures and kept 9 :) I sure can identify with that!

Terrific lens with some great points! Your introduction hits a home run right off the bat (so to speak)...I agree with every word. Your hummingbird photo is sensational! I have to admit that although I shoot a lot (in other words, practice), I haven't taken the time to read through my camera's instructions. And I also just don't like using a tripod although I'm sure it would result in better pictures. I don't own a single one of those photography books and now I'm kind of drooling because I'm a bit of a book junkie! Anyway, a very informative lens...thanks!

I just bought a new digital camera that I'm planning on taking on my summer vacation. I'd love to attend a seminar to learn how to really use it. It's so sad to miss out on great photo opportunities because you didn't learn how to adjust your settings, etc. until you were half way through a trip - not that I've ever done that. Lol. ;)

I think the first thing I need to get is a good digital camera. And then a field trip will be good for hand on experience.
