Photographer Business Cards

I Often Get Asked...

When out taking photos I often get talking to fellow photographers and when they learn I am a graphic designer they will sometimes ask if I can design a business card for them. I tell them, 'sure I can', and quote them a price. I think most of them think I would do this for free and are taken aback when I quote them, after all, this is my profession and a unique bespoke design will take time. Considering this I thought it would be a good idea to create some customizable photographer business card templates for photographers who don't want to pay for a bespoke design.

Photography Business Cards

To Get Your Name Out There

Whether you are a professional photographer or an enthusiast who sells a few prints now and then, having a business card to hand out to people you meet is a great way to market yourself, get your name out there, drive traffic to you website portfolio and get more twitter followers - you are on twitter right? Twitter is another great way to get more exposure. If you don't have a website, then get yourself a free blog, and start posting your photographs.

I have created 15 photography business card designs and placed them in my Zazzle store, so anyone can customize the text and add their own photographs to these templates and order online as many business cards as they need. Some of my designs are featured below.

Camera Lens Business Card

A stylish photographer business card

Camera Lens Photographers Business CardThis design symbolizes looking down the lens of a camera with space for your name, business and a list of photography services on the front of the card.

The back of the card has lines for contact details, such as, telephone number, email address, website address, twitter name and a studio address. These lines can be left blank, or you can add other details as you wish, as this template easily customized.

Vertical Two-Photo Business Card

Showcase two of your best photographs

Two Image Photography Business CardThis vertical business card design has room on the front and back for two photos, so you can upload two of your best images to showcase on this card. It is always nice to get 'wow', and favorable comments when you hand over your card to someone!

The example shown here is for a wildlife photographer, but you can customize this line under the name for any genre of photography you practice. There are four lines on the back where you can add your basic contact details.

Camera Viewfinder Business Card

Create a simple logo for your name

Viewfinder Photography Business CardThis photographer business card represents the view when you look through a camera viewfinder with the focusing brackets surrounding your name, creating a simple logo.

The front image is out-of-focus making your name stand out more, while the back of the card uses the same image but this time in-focus. You can upload two of your own photographs to this template. It is easy enough to create the out-of-focus effect by using a gaussian blur filter in Photoshop.

Business Card Marketing Tip

If they show an interest in what you do, then give them a card and ask them to check out your website. You might get some business from them, or they might pass your card on to a friend, at the very least you are getting your name out there.
