How To Make Personalized Jewelry with Your Own Photos
I came across a website that had kits for making your own photo jewelry. I decided to order a kit and try it. It was fun to do and I like the results. It is nice to be able to wear photos that mean a lot to you. The kit provided software to re-size the photos, the resin coating and the charms or pendants. The coating magnifies the photo and makes it easier to see. I found I had to be careful not to get the jewelry wet. A little bit of water doesn't hurt, but water can loosen the photos. Also making sure the photos are glued down securely is important as a corner being caught on something could pull the photo off. Of course if you keep the supplies you can remake the jewelry. The materials have been improved and now there are photo sheets with adhesive which adheres better and helps prevent the photo from being accidentally pulled off. There are also bubbles or glass covers that protect the photo from things like water.You receive the software to make your photos small enough to fit on a 9mm Italian charm. You can make larger charms also for a necklace or a keychain. There is even a kit for making a belt buckle. You can also purchase software that will put a name or a saying on your photo.
You could make yourself a bracelet with 18 9mm Italian charms each with a photo of your choice. You could make a megacharm bracelet out of 9 megacharms. You can make a necklace or a keychain with one megacharm. You could make a charm bracelet alternating megacharms and 9mm charms. There are other sizes of charms and other types such dangling charms.

My favorite kind of jewelry is a pin. You can place a pin on a lapel or wear on one side of a blouse or dress or use the pin to pin shut a v-neck that is too low or that flaps open. Pins can also be used as a decoration at the waist line, on a belt or on a coat or jacket. I have made pins, but I have found that the pin backing can be of poor quality. I discovered pins at Zazzle.com. At first I thought they only had the button pins like you see for political campaigns. Then I discovered they had photo sculpture pins. You can upload a picture of your own for the pin and they will cut out around the main subject in the picture. If it is a picture of a person, they will cut out around the outline of the person. There are also frames that you can place your picture in before ordering. A couple of examples follow below.
